I hadn't heard of this saga until this week when I discovered there was a family connection to the story (nothing dodgy!). I then thought I'd try to track down the TR involved and it turns out it was a lot easier than I thought... Thanks for the info Robert.
Has anyone aggregated this information into a spreadsheet yet? If not, I'd be happy to work one up that we can easily refer and add to.
I'm not sure what the years are on these, but from what I've seen white Testarossas are not common, let alone 3 in one spot. This was caffeine and carburetors in New Canaan, CT 10/23/2022 Image Unavailable, Please Login
just aquired an 85 Red RHD Monospeccio with single lug wheels vin 58863. A previous owner has added a 2nd high mirror that serves no purpose which I will remove. Would love to know many RHD Monospeccio's made? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats! I am second owner of 61655, an ‘86 that the first owner converted to dual low mirrors. Apparently to make it look like a new model shortly after purchase. I also intend to convert it back to original and have all parts. It’s nice to have the extra visibility behind so I’ve delayed this project! Enjoy!
Thanks. The 2nd high mirror on mine gives zero visibility and was a pointless addition ruining the cars originality. Don’t really know what the person that did that was thinking. There will be no delaying getting it removed. I will obviously have 2 lug holes where the mirror is on the pillar and have to find a way to plug them for now until I do the job properly which will entail welding/filling and painting the whole roof I assume. Anybody got any useful tips before i start taking off the inside trim on the pillar to investigate the extent of the job.
Went to work removing the 2nd mirror. Boy was there two holes (see pic 1) Will need to give that to bodywork shop eventually to do bit fir now found a couple of grommets to fill and seal the holes. (See pic 2) Looks so much better with only one high mirror as it was intended. (Pic 3) Image Unavailable, Please Login View attachment 3029671 View attachment 3549464

It’s getting there! Do you have to change over the remote mirror switch? When the original owner of mine had the second mirror installed he had the later dual remote control mirror switch installed as well. I found the single mirror switch online about five years ago but seem to recall that it wasn’t easy to find one.
Luckily the owner that put on the 2nd mirror didn’t change the switch. It just operates the RH side original mirror. The switch was the confirmation that the second mirror wasn’t original.
The shields on the panel above your front tires, not original to the car and a personal choice to keep them or remove. First thing I did when I bought my car was remove them and a bunch of other non stock stuff. Car looks great, you should start a thread using the vin for reference and keep posting pictures!
Right I get you now..it got lost in USA - English translation haha. Yeah didn’t know that, thanks for pointing it out. What should be there? Nothing? Anything else you can see?
You can search the site for how to best remove the shields. I removed a set from my 348. They were a high quality metal repro shield that was glued on. I used dental floss / fishing line after heating and they came off pretty easy without damaging the car
This seems a good place to ask. Does anyone know the identity of RHD single mirror red/cream Testarossas in the Uk on registrations: C2PHW (owned by Paul White) 7174KF (seen at Nigel Mansell Ferrari) GIL1749 black interior C407GVM C504LWG Seems a long shot, but I thought I’d ask here. many thanks Robert
