Will you take my kidney as a deposit?
You’re right. Maybe I should keep and sell both together!!! Or just keep. Easy to talk me out of selling!
I’ve become a bit more interested in the older cars and feel the GTO and TDF in my collection are a bit duplicative. Notwithstanding the incredible soundtrack of the GTO (which completely crushes the TDF by the way imho), I prefer the overall style and experience of the TDF. That is if I can only own one, I’m going to keep the TDF. so I figured - let’s see if anyone would like to enjoy this GTO. It needs to be driven more and harder to be happy!
It’s the best. CDF is the color. This is the day we picked it up in San Antonio and drove it back to Houston! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I share your opinion. I have both a tdf and speciale as well and for me the tdf is the one and the choice i would make if i could only have 1 . I prefer the styling, the lines, its a bigger departure from the base car and remind you when you look at it of the 250 and 275 series. The gto is great and a great addition if you can have both but for me it just isn’t the tdf. Speciale of course a keeper!
VERY NICE GTO ... good luck with the sale ..... I also own a GTO and have decided I would rather have this car than the TDF .. as I truly love the sound of the GTO and I am also a big fan of the F1SF2 transmission I just like the extra mechanical sounds that come along with it.. THat's why I also have a SCUD .. as I again think they have a better sound track than the Special I must be the only person around to think so .but once again I love the technical sound track of the F1SF2...In any case I keep thinking Instead of getting a TDF which I also like but ... just does not do it for me.. so I am considering a 330/365 GTC or a DAYTONA.... I also have a DINO ..out of curiosity if you don't mind what car are you considering
You are my brother from another mother. You had me at Argento and GTO and now CDF and TDF …… The non red family is grinning……… GLWS.
A Daytona may be on the list. We will see. Probably depends on what happens with the GTO sale. I may agree with you on the Scud vs Speciale sound comparison: however, neither of them really have that aggressive popping sound that the GTO has. Ferrari certainly had eliminated it completely by the time the Speciale came out as I recall taking my Speciale at the time back to the dealer inquiring what had happened to the exhaust. Even the earlier 458s sounded better!
If you are interested in buying the GTO, buy it. Otherwise, why is the seller's reason of doing so anybody's concern?
I also own both a GTO and a TDF and agree with the sound of the GTO vs. TDF, not a surprise since the GTO's engine has the DNA of the 559 XX. I saw this car at the time when the dealership had 3 GTO's at the same time and I also know its 2 prior owners.
the 599 is the most beautiful of the modern (since the 275 gts) ferrraris, and among one of the best looking ever.
It would be appropriate for the Seller to make this statement. Why would you butt in? Perhaps the Seller would like to tell why he is selling it. Many sellers do, and that information could be helpful. Also, experienced buyers like to know why--because it is valuable information, if it can be gathered.
If both of you are not a potential buyer this conversation should be private and should happen between you outside this thread. At this point conversation between you will divert the attention/purpose of the original post for selling a car. Just a suggestion. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
If the seller is offended by the question, he can tell us so. If he isn't, you don't need to feign outrage at a reasonable question. What is it about you guys with less than a thousand posts coming on this board and telling us what we should ask? Finding out information about the car is EXACTLY the thing that will move this sale forward for the seller. Nobody needs people with a handful of posts jumping in and clamping down on the free flow of information. So far, the seller has not told anyone to go pound sand, so why do you want to substitute your opinion for his? I AM a potential buyer and I want to listen to everything that is being said about this GTO and any other that I might see. Right now I am in the middle of a big transaction at work and it is taking all my time. And if I can get information from a quick read of some posts, then good for me. I don't have time to post or run down questions. I missed a car last week in South Florida, because I was traveling and did not have time to go by. By the time the salesperson sent me a video of a cold start, and a few other things sorted out on the car, it had sold to someone else. And normally I would not post something this long about this subject, but you guys just need to let us ask questions and let the seller answer. You don't need to interrupt the process that was developed long before you and your 300 posts arrived.
You do realize that you criticized the question that was asked AFTER the seller answered it. So in my posts, when I explained the reason for the question, I was providing some cover to the seller for answering the question as much as I was defending the question itself. To show up now, with your palms in the air and ask "What's the big deal?" is a bit insincere. And to suggest that this information is only for buyers and sellers in private is just strange--especially given the thread. In effect, you criticized a poster for a question that hardly anyone else found offensive, and then you post "Exactly . . . ." Geez. Out of touch is an understatement.
