The Maserati Levante SUV looks so much better to me than the Pureosangue.

Maserati did a great job…it is an SUV that differentiates itself from the rest, is sleek, looks exotic, and despite being an SUV still manages to look good from most any angle. I’m not so sure Incan look at the Pureosangue from the front and not want to turn my head in a different direction.

I don’t understand how Maserati was able to get it so right, and Ferrari got it so wrong.

Then again Maserati is on a roll lately… to me, the MC20 far exceeds the looks of the 296 GTB.

Not sure how it works, but the Alfa Stelvio looks a little better than the Maserati and a lot better than the Puro-whatever.

Can we ask the Admin NOT to create a Model specific forum for it on FChat. I don't see a tractor subforum on L-Chat and it might give false impressions that it is a real Ferrari.

Yeah! And we should do the same for an EV Ferrari cause those aren't real either. Ohh same for the hybrids. And those with turbochargers cause real Ferrari's are naturally aspirated. And anything with flappy paddles, real Ferrari's have clutch petals! Real Ferrari's have carburetors too, so all that fuel injection stuff is right out!

Well maybe not, but at least we can all agree that Dino's aren't real Ferrari's!

IMO it's bad for a niche brand like Ferrari to be "bigger and better" when the cost is their soul. Walmart and Target are bigger and better. :)

While I agree that the models you listed are amazing cars the reality is, with the exception of the Carrera GT and 918, the rest have become nondescript and at best will get you in the back of the line at the local Eoxtic Car Rally with the Corvettes. Porsche has perfected the engineering of the 911 and it's variants but have arguably evolutionized an exterior design that has become almost invisible. It's the performance car for orthodontists who don't want to stand out. ;)

Growing up in the 70's and 80's 911's were "exotic" and an exciting sight to be seen for all car enthusiasts. Sadly, not anymore. When is the last time you heard someone excitedly yell out "Oh my God there's a GT3!!!"?

IMO the Ferrari I learned to love and worship as a kid is dead. They are just another corporate whore who cares more about cashing in on their brand then they do about their lineage. I'm afraid by the time I'm dead they will be history.

Agreed. I’ve been looking to buy an SUV, likely 1-2 yrs ole to avoid the depreciation hit. Which is more reliable the Alfa or Maserati?

agree to disagree on whether bigger is better.

I would prefer to drive a GT4RS/GT3RS over a California

Don't care if "someone" doesn't get excited about a GT3. non-car people will get excited over a badge. Car enthusiasts get excited over a model. Porsche GT3RS > Ferrari Purosangue. Similar to people get excited over a Rolex. Horologists get teary over a Patek Nautilus.

I 100% agree with you about the GT4RS, GT3, etc. I'm speaking/observing more from the overall general perception I see here in the local car community.

Porsche has shot themselves in the foot with the ridiculous number of 911 variations. There are approx 23 different versions of the 911 listed on Porsche's page today and it changes weekly. The naming schemes don't make any sense, and the visual differences seem generally unrelated to the actual performance differences. Add in all the various aftermarket bits and its impossible to tell the pedestrian versions from the 'enthusiast' versions.

The folks at Road and Track would disagree. They just named a 911 PCOTR

Not just that, but Porsche hit record sales, profit, and revenue, so I would argue the public also disagrees.

“If you see what a competitor is doing and it is better than what you are doing, you have to surpass them to ensure your car is better.”
“If I am unable to see the defects in the machines I create myself, how can I see properly into myself?”
"I don’t think there’s a car in the world that hasn’t yet been improved by competition, a car which hasn’t been influenced by others.”

Sure, they named the 911 GT3, and because of the alphabet soup and crazy variations of 911s, almost everyone just hears 911. That is a huge benefit to Porsche where the whole line from the lowly $90k Carrera to the $250k Turbo S all benefit from the press.

In the end though I think it cheapens the brand and will lead to a long term decline at the expense of a short-term gain.

Please..do yourself a massive favor and stay away from the Masersti SUV. The thing is an absolute joke..I'm amazed they even sold any of these garbage cans. Yes they are that bad. If you want a competent SUV buy Japanese or American..that is it. They rest are designed to fill the service bays after 5 years.
