    Gents,

I am installing the Capristo exhaust brackets. There is a nut/bolt pair that goes through each spring. Does anyone know how tight these should be?

    Thank you,

Tighten the bolts so it compresses the springs a little. Mine are tightened enough that I can move the springs with my fingers, but I have to push and pull on them fairly hard.
They can be adjusted tighter if they rattle.

Do you have the washer on the correct side of the bracket where it bolts to the rear bulkhead, thats the usual mistake

Going from back of the car to front I have: rear bulkhead, main bracket body, washer, nut. Is that the right order?

This is a pic of mine, it might be slightly different to yours as capristo back box brackets different from oem box. I seem to recall a big washer between the bulkhead and the bracket so you have a gap behind it

I just double checked the Capristo documenation. In the install manual, they have two pictures that show the bracket flush against the bulkhead, then the washer, then the nut. I doubt it matters that much though . . .

Do you have 2 big washers in the kit- these get very hot so the gap will keep the heat off the rear bulkhead. This will move 18 mms when on the motorway.

I see about the heat. Makes sense.

My brackets rattled like crazy with the big washer on the nut side. Resolved once I moved the washer behind the bracket.
