With the stratospheric rise in values of the originals, quite a number of quality copies are now in build, rather than the rather shoddy previous iterations, many of which were never stretched to the correct wheelbase. It will be interesting to see what this benchmarks the higher spec examples of such in the current market place. I think the body should have been carbon though rather than fibreglass in order to achieve its max value and maybe a 360 motor and box. I believe the budget for a Norwood etc example to be built is $200k plus. The only thing that seems to let this one down is those alloy airfilter tubes, something easily remedied though. Wheels could be slightly wider as well, they do not seem to fill the arches enough.
It is a replica and total fake and has absolutely zero to do with a genuine 288 GTO. Why not put this thread straight into the replica section? To get more clicks in the "Ferrari Discussion" area? Marcel Massini
One could probably convert a 308 into a great 288 replica of sorts. The 308 frame stripped of its body. Motor relocated to the right position. Prob use a 355 drivetrain add some turbos and cf 288 body. You”d Have a ferrari chassis and motor so it would be a Ferrari look at what singer does, it’s just a function of the effort and quality being put in. 500k builds to do really right. after all ferrari does not deign to build real drivers cars anymore so why not make a great inspired Ferrari out of an old one which is more than plentiful/ the 288 reimagined
