Hey Team, First and foremost, I've loved learning from all of you thus far so thank you. I'm looking to learn everything about the 1988 328 I purchased in November. I looked in the owner's manual and it's been difficult for me to learn about the engine, mechanical parts, etc. I would like to understand what I'm looking at from top to bottom and I am far from knowledgeable with regards to cars in general. I would say I'm a 4 out of 10 and would like to be a 6.5 or 7. If yall have any resources I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time.
A great source is on the stickies, here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/interesting-3x8-technical-diy-threads.281516/
I did get some manuals and bulletins. Don’t remember from where, right now. But I’m pretty sure someone will help you with that.
Also, even that it’s not a 328, there are similarities. I’ve been watching all his videos, which I find well explained and have learned a lot from areas of the car that I’m not familiar with. I’ve really enjoyed these videos. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSGy9iWU4nLaqGv1FY1I_Cf1xpguG97_f
If you are struggling to cross reference parts on the car to the owners manual descriptions and drawings just ask and/or post a picture here Another thing is that much that applies to the 308 & Mondial can be applied to the 328
In addition to that, you should learn how to drive it the way it was meant to be driven , and yes, drive it , not only to cars and coffee, I mean put some miles on it on the twistiest roads that you can find. The car is bullet proof, mine has 104,000 miles and runs as good as it did with 20,000. Thank you
Every day that it's been nice out (in Houston), I've been driving it. I have an awesome storage place down the road so I can get it very quickly. It's been a great first three months.
"I'm looking to learn everything about the 1988 328 I purchased in November." Good Plan! I've owned my 328 since 2008, driven it across the US 3 times, used it as a daily driver for 6 years and still haven't learned how to operate the lighting stalk!
Man that’s hilarious ! I haven’t driven mine that much but still….any time I use the lights it’s pretty much a trial by error till I find what I need.
LOL…. This remain me of a post in other forum, the thread was about some cars that you can’t open from inside if there are some electrical issues. anyhow this guy posted this, still makes me laugh “I had the same thing happen to me, except it was an 80s vintage Ferrari 308GTS something or another, was fancy red though and sitting in a showroom. Got in, closed the door and made vroom vroom noises while pretending to drive, then couldn’t find a door handle for the life of me. About five minutes into it I started to have a panic attack and decided to knock on the door glass until a sales guy walked over and let me out. I hustled out of there like I had to ****, no words and no eye contact, just run. I might have been high as a kite at the time.”
Google and download the parts manual and workshop manual, online in PDF form. Between those two there is a ton of information. And there are also wiring schematics which are helpful (if tedious to follow).
LMAO! This could be me as well - and though I drive 98% in daylight hours so I don't need lights that often, operating the damn lights and not killing the battery from leaving the lamps ON but buckets down is a challenge!
Yes! I run with the aux lights (or whatever they're called) turned on but very often, since they don't shut off with the key, I get out of the car at [wherever] and when I return to the car, I usually notice that I left those lights on.

Do 308's have "aux lights"? I'm still learning my '77GTB and haven't yet figured out how to turn on just running/park lights.
