I’m looking for a shop in the area to install an S Line exhaust and straight pipes on my 458.

Competizione is my go to for everything but they won’t install aftermarket exhausts, and FoW will charge $4k in labor.

Rosso Service and Loudon County Exotics both quotes between $3000-$3500 which I think is outrageous as this can be done for $1k in the New Jersey area.

    Any recommendations?

Not sure who else I would trust to work on the car, other than mentioned above.
Will the 458 pass emissions with straight pipes??

Robert is correct. What State is the car registered in? If it is Virginia ......I'm surprised any of those shops would touch it if you plan on changing or eliminating the catalytic convertors. You could always take it back to New Jersey their rules are different than the EPA zone around Washington DC.

Those price quotes are ridiculous. Installing exhausts are as easy if not easier than a break job. Any competent tuner shop should be able to do them.

Not all counties in Virginia have emissions testing.

Thats right, forgot. Drive a crap car from Madison county to work in NOVA everyday and never get emissions tested, perfect!! What a joke.

My car is not subject to emissions tests.

Any recommendations on a tuner shop?

Here in North Carolina, its an age thing -- cars > 20(?) years old are exempt. My old Austrian military Pinzgauer smoked like an unfiltered Camel cigarette, and nobody cared. But wife's 2017 MINI Cooper is a different story...

    Are 458's exempt in VA?

Only certain suburban counties are required to play the emissions game. I wanna say more than 60% of the counties in VA don't have to meet the emissions requirements, flipping crazy!!!

Interesting news about Competizione. I was talking to them about a Tubi for my 599 about three years ago. Maybe they changed their policy.

They told me they used to install aftermarket exhausts but have been burned many times… for example they will quote 8 hours but issues arise and it seems to always turn into a 2-3 day job so it’s just not worth it for them anymore from a business perspective. I understand their rationale, it’s just unfortunate for us that we can’t goto the premier Ferrari shop in the area for exhaust installs!

Here's an example of the level of effort required. It is simple, bolt on work. Various exhaust vendors do them on the spot at events like Corvettes at Carlise for Corvettes as an example of just how simple it is.
