Was driving home from a car show today, not racing (about 40mph) when the oil temp gauge pegged to max. Just as I was looking for a place to pull over it went back down to mid left. I had just turned on a/c before that happened. I turned off a/c and drove another 5 miles w/o incident. Fluke? Sensor misread?

Any chance it has something to do with the Garmin install you mentioned in your other thread? Not sure if you have done any electrical work on the car yet. Just moving around the wires could be the cause. In 9 years of ownership I have had a couple of things pop up once and never return. "Electrical gremlins"

Was unable to install Garmin as cigarette lighter only works if you hold charger. I pulled it out and cleaned it but did not help.

Check the plug/wiring on the sender. It's on the transaxle.

It's just a variable resistor with power for the circuit coming from the instrument panel (no fuses)

Are you using the right socket as it has a lighter and a power plug
