    I haven't received #13 either.
But the local car book store has a number of copies on their shelves.

I’ve been very impressed with the magazine and the weekly emails.

I got #13 about four weeks ago (in Switzerland). The mag as such is nice, yes.
However, I do NOT like the constant (weekly?) emails, because we are all totally inundated and swamped with emails, 24/7/365. It's really insane and way too much. Simply impossible to handle it all.

Then don't whinge, unsubscribe. There's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.

Unsubscribe did not work. Seriously. And it is not the only case/website where the so-called "unsubscribing" doesn't work. Even if some IT guys don't want to believe that.........

As Marcel states I unsubscribe from a lot of junk, properly, yet it keeps coming back, I believe a strong percentage of the geeks creating all this are unethical in what amounts to harassment.

-Anyway I mean to ask has anyone read this and is it a worthy read?

Because of the Pat Hoare saga I am quite interested so would appreciate some feedback, thanks in advance.

I've just bought this book in paperback. Its in my 'to read on holiday' pile. First impressions are large print and poor quality photographs.

Then apologies. I suggest, if you haven't already done so, dropping an email to the editor, David Lillywhite, who responded to an email I sent him a while ago very promptly.

I have read it but it was a while a ago. It is slightly strange in that, it seemed to me to be two pretty much separate things (Enzo Ferrari in the war years and then the bit about Pat Hoare and New Zealand) joined together in one book. I found some parts more interesting than others. For me, worth reading but not a book I would be rushing to read again. It is probably also worth mentioning that it is quite low quality (i.e. not very good photo reproduction).

I ought to add, on the subject of unwanted emails, that obviously if unsubscribe doesn't work, you can always set your email client to block an email address, direct it to junk or a specific folder.

    Marc,

I read it when it was released so it’s been quite some time. I knew nothing about Hoare at the time so it was worthwhile for me. Those with a deeper knowledge of Ferrari history may find it less compelling, I don’t know. I kept the book, so I guess that says something.

I’ve always been impressed by the fact that two unrelated men with the same surname, on opposite sides of the globe, would have such similar relationships with a then-obscure automobile manufacturer in rural Italy.

Mark, For your book I suggest contacting the conservation department of a major museum in your area to describe your problem. They may be able to direct you to a specialist restorer of works-on-paper or textiles, who address such problems. While museums do not typically take outside work, they are often familiar with commercial specialists. Such a specialist successfully removed an old glue stain from the cloth cover of a vintage book for me. The works-on-paper conservation department of a museum gave me the contact.

If you bought the book for its (future) financial value, then it is ruined and I suggest you buy a new copy.
If you bought the book for its content, then it is extremely annoying, but the content of the book is still the same.... I always try to preserve books as good as possible, but you can not read and keep them pristine at the same time. That said, I feel your pain, if this happened to me I would be very grumpy for a couple of days.

The book is not damaged, only the slipcase? Contact the publisher and see if you can get a replacement.

Considering what is going on in the world right now these micro issues are very much storms in a teacup, first world problems: think of the humble but very learned private book collections obliterated in apartment buildings in Kiev, Kharkiv etc these past ten days...along with the lives of their owners and families... doesn't your little stain appear as what it is? Utterly insignificant?

Really Marc, you put my post in quotes and infer that I and the gentleman with the book have no interest or concern for world affairs or the poor people suffering in Ukraine?? I follow world affairs very closely and have grave concern for the current situation. Yes, agree a very minor problem - for which a simple suggestion was made. We all still check into FChat a moment as a diversion these days, as you obviously did. But please, manner in which you associate me with your well-made point is rather clouded, though I'm sure that was not your intent! Little stuff goes wrong; one fixes it if practical within reason - and still follows the news.

Slip case did its job, protected the book, took one for the team. Is this the one for sale on eBay?

Yep on EBay, Unsure what the other guy is on about, we all know there’s a war going on and correct lives are lost, and as stated by you books are being destroyed and also material things, homes and cars, possibly including Supercars. But then you could say I Crashed my car or chipped my paintwork, or my window is broken at home, should I leave it as cars and property are being destroyed..I for one am against this unnecessary War and more importantly the lives being lost
