The original shop is going to swap out my HRE with Novitecs. The owner is standing behind his work. It’s fine. A set back but hopefully will get this all squared away in a week or two.

Update: after dicking around for 2 weeks and still no springs- I got my money back for the job from the shop which they promptly refunded. Have new shop ordering novitecs (which original shop said was going to take several more weeks but I know they never even ordered them). Springs should be here in a few days and then we will do install.

What a mess but luckily no major harm or foul. I’ll get pics posted in a few weeks of the progress.

Springs go in next week. Was thinking to add some spacers to the rear wheels as well to give a more aggressive stance. Go with Novitec or can I use a different brand? Figured it’s just a small piece of metal so don’t need to spend 2 grand abs pay the ferrari tax. Anyone know of any alternatives?

I’m gonna order these but they may not arrive till after my springs go in. Might have to just do a DYI job to install. Can’t be all that difficult.

Can someone from @VividRacing comment on spacers? Easy dyi? I’m in Scottsdale. Can I swing by next week and pick up? What size you recommend? 10/15 front rear??

If you do spacers, do the Hill spacers. 11mm front and 15 rear. Yes they are just a piece of metal - that takes the weight of your car.
If you have seen how a set of H&R spacers can get bent out of shape on powerful cars, that's enough proof to making sure they are made from a quality material. Hills are better and cheaper than both Capristo and Novi spacers, and the precision is killer. The "click" when they slide over the hub is just delicious:)

Also, the 11mm spacers are much, much stronger than the normal 10 mm units. Both the 10 and 11 mm spacers are hubcentric, and with the 10 mm set there is next to no material between the inner bore that fits over the hub and the outer hub on the spacer that supports the car. There's a reason why Hill made the narrow spacers 11 mm and it was not cosmetics.

Awesome. The mounting tool is out of stock but ill get the spacers ordered asap. $250 sounds a lot more reasonable than 2 grand!
So excited after 2+ years to get the Pista dialed in hopefully perfect.

Anyone care to share their alignment specs for when they lowered their Pista using Novitec springs?

Just makes it easier to install wheels and such onto the hub, while lowering the risk of banging into the ceramic rotors and possibly chip/damage them.

    Sure.

Do you want toe in minutes or mm?

Do you want camber in degrees and minutes or just degrees?

Yep. When running spacers they are a must. Trying to install spacers and then holding a wheel onto the hub, all while trying to align the wheel and spacer without it all crashing on to the brake rotor is a chore that gets old in minutes. Just don't even attempt it. For this reason ALWAYS keep the hangers in the car. If a shop needs to fix a flat or what not, they need to be there.

Here are two settings. 1 is for track and serious road use, 2 is for road use on a car that rarely sees the track and generally is not driven hard. Numbers are per side. Don't worry about caster as it will remain largely unchanged and well within spec.

    Setup 1

    Front
    Toe. +1.0 mm
    Camber. -1.95 degrees

    Rear
    Toe. +2.07 mm
    Camber. -1.80 degrees

    Setup 2

    Front.
    Toe. -0.75 mm
    Camber. 1.45 degrees

    Rear.
    Toe. +1.75 mm
    Camber. -1.65 degrees

Note that when your tech adjust the front camber, it is important that he not only adds shims to the lower A-arm, he should also remove the shims from the upper A-arm and install them on the lower A-arm before the added shims. This will serve to pull the top of the wheel in a bit, thus retaining optimal steering geometry. The upper shims are the ones labelled #10 in the attached drawing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
