I love little details like this with these cars
Your observation is absolutely correct Ralph. The Ke-4300b featured a specific text on the bottom frequency line as shown on your bottom pictures. My picture is showing a Ke-4300 with a black "Ferrari" surround plate. Original Ke-4300b radios are difficult to get hands on unless you want to take the car with it. Best, Peter
Old thread, but I figured I’d chime in anyway. My ‘82 308 GTSi came to me with an early 2000’s Alpine neon light show radio. I hated it! The car also came with an uninstalled Blaupunkt Boston SQR49 which turned on but was locked and I didn’t have the code. The original owner had the dealer put it in post purchase. I opened it up and resoldered the tabs on the daughter board to a known code. Works great and looks correct. Pic taken before the wires were buttoned up so no judging! My debate now is if I should keep the Blaupunkt “Globe” speakers that were installed on the rear shelf with the Boston. They look cool but are clearly not original. Image Unavailable, Please Login
They may well be original from the dealer. I have pictures from 82 showing Blaupunkt Globe speakers on a new unsold 308.
I just installed the currently manufactured Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB which I am very happy with. It is a modernized version of the 1985 Blaupunkt Bremen. 3x8 Audio: Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB

Try this link for all the old blaupunkt catalogues. This is what I referenced when buying my Blaupunkt Coburg. (I think it's coburg https://antique-autoradio-madness.org/
The old stereos are a must for looks. But personally, I prefer to just listen to the engine. No need for the stereo to actually sound good.
Sorry a little side track here but just wanted to share, look what the Jeep Grand Wagoneer comes with now, dang! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I missed this thread earlier, but now that it's popped back up - My 1984 Euro QV had a Becker Mexico radio in it when I bought it in 2013 - it's a European frequency unit, so aside from cassette use was pretty useless to me! I'm pretty sure it was the original radio in the car on delivery, which was on Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands. None of the 12 head units listed in the link above is a Becker, and I haven't seen Becker mentioned at all. Here's my car after I bought it, with the Becker Mexico: Image Unavailable, Please Login In order to get something functional and provide Bluetooth capability, I installed an inexpensive Sony in 2014 - shown with the Becker: Image Unavailable, Please Login While I still have the Becker on the shelf, after Brian A's posts about the new Blaupunkt Bremen SQ46 I bought one of those to replace the Sony, it looks much more period correct than the Sony unit with the modern functionality. Cheers, Gordon
Mine from when new in 1980, a dry sump GTB, and it still plays the best music ever... Image Unavailable, Please Login
