I did it. It’s special order & could take 8 weeks to arrive. I’ll keep everyone posted. They ended up agreeing after informing me of a 10% Tubi price increase effective 4/3/22 for all Tubi exhausts going forward (if you want any Tubi exhaust buy it in the next 3 weeks). Champion already has the new prices updated with everyone to follow in the next 3 weeks. I communicated with one of the guys that has one in Japan (VERY difficult) but he sent me a 3 PAGE description of the details, sound, workmanship, etc. he said it sounds like a particular variation of the Kreissieg exhaust that is currently Japans most beloved F355 exhaust right now. He said they love it like”you American’s love the Capristo sound 2 & 3.” I asked him what Kreissieg variation he was talking about but he said Kreissieg gave in once they got the order to 10 (quantity) and claims it’s a version they custom made for them. USA conversion of $17k. He said this Tubi is the closest thing to it but “not as good.” Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Superb! Just to be clear, who is "they"? Who did you order directly from? On a side note, Champion is most likely the priciest place to acquire Tubi products in the U.S .

When you say has one, do you mean has a general Tubi "race" muffler or one of these special custom Tubi mufflers I've been rambling about ? 2.How does Kreissieg fit into the picture and what is meant by "Kreissieg gave in once they got the order to 10 (quantity) and claims it’s a version they custom made for them." ?
Does anyone know what Tubi is on the GTB in this clip (the one with the license plate ending in 089)? This is the most perfect sounding 355 I've ever heard. Maybe it's got cat delete pipes too? The sound is just perfect and I would like to replicate it. Incidentally that car's VIN is only a few numbers off mine. Both 98's.
Isn't it missing the howl/scream that an Evolution creates via its Capristo-style straight exit path for the bypass?
Tubi even the Evolution doesn’t have the high pitch scream like Capristo. It sounds more authentic and natural. 2.7 with Tubi Evolution, Tubi headers and OEM cats:
1) I’ll get back with you on. I’m waiting on the official part number that they’re giving the one I have held. 2) I think he meant that a bunch of guys in Japan went to Kreissieg & asked them to change part of the muffler configuration; they said no. But once they gathered enough PO’s for a group but they ended up building it. I don’t know what the changes are, etc. The guy in Japan brought it up & said that the Kreissieg was their muffler of choice. That’s about all I could understand. The translator wasn’t exactly the easiest thing to read. More to come. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Here’s a clip of a Kriessieg. Not sure which one though. https://www.instagram.com/p/B33HRXfJndp/?utm_medium=copy_link
The eagle has landed (took 3x longer than anticipated). I finally received the Japanese Spec “F1” Tubi that was custom ordered through a dealer in Japan. They needed 10 PO’s before Tubi would agree to make it. I was the 10th so they begrudgingly accepted the order destined for America. It’s the “F1” sound Japanese custom Tubi that they all rave about. After Tubi finished, they sent the Exhaust to a dealer in Japan. The dealer contacted me & gave me the engraved number on the exhaust (which apparently means it is a custom build); then presented me with the insane shipping estimate to America. It arrived today. ShineKen has photo’s. I’ll send them soon; unless he beats me to it (which Is fine). A sound track will be posted once the car is back together. Thanks for the encouragement to pull this off. This whole “f1” muffler thing… I don’t understand how a muffler and a couple short pipes can make that sound happen. The source is this sound, to my understanding, is the result of the flat plane crank and the length of the headers …and the high revs, of course. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I’m not expecting it to sound like an F1 car; but that’s what they call it. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I don’t expect many cars being able to reproduce the sound of a real F1 car. I bought it b/c we spoke to people in Japan & they love it. The Japanese market is very particular about certain things: the cars being hardtops, exhaust tone, etc. They were able to get Tubi to design an exhaust that they would actually be willing buy. This is it. So I bought it to see if this particular exhaust sounds as good as they say. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
yea, what's it matter. Unless you are driving a spider with the top down you can't really hear it anyway. I never got the "F1 sound" thing anyway. A V8 turning 8700 is never going to sound like a V12 or V10 turning 18000.
Hi Timothy, looks great but this engraved number all new Tubi exhaust have this as it is production number, strange if this is the louder version of Tubi because the design looks like normal Tubi. Are you sure this is custom build? What makes this unique vs normal Tubi or Evolution? Hope the Japan company not oversold this
It's true. Heck, I drove my spider with the top up the other day and I thought FTW is wrong with the motor.
Looks exactly like my original Tubi, except for the mounting bracket. Who knows how the baffles are arranged.
Like dampers, the magic happens inside. But yes, we're all concerned if someone's leg is being pulled. I noticed the tips are EVO style. I'm not sure one can order a standard Tubi with those tips. That would be one custom aspect right there.
Here’s the story: Shineken found a JDM Tubi exhaust for sale used. He posted it online & encouraged someone to buy it b/c the Japanese Market isn’t a huge fan of the normal production TUBI’s for whatever reason. I wanted to understand what is truly different about it so I contacted members of Ferrari owners club in Japan (after downloading the translation app). They sold me on the sound (by listening to clips), but told me to be careful since TUBI only ran limited custom builds for the “F1 JPN” exhaust & their extremely hard to find. There is no advertisement or information anywhere. A week later one of the guys sent me a message that said that he was at a dealer & heard them talking about placing an order for this exhaust. They needed a minimum order of 10. They had nine. He asked the dealer on my behalf if I could fulfill the 10th spot. They said “no” b/c the full order needs to be shipped to one location & they weren’t interested in shipping anything to America. The next week, the same guy reached out & told me that two of the people that placed orders learned about my desire to obtain this exhaust & pressured the dealer. Soon thereafter I receive a message stating that if I agree to pay for shipping from Japan to America; they would accept my order & send the PO to Tubi. I said “yes.” The exhaust finally arrived this week. The box was littered with Japanese paperwork. The shipping document from Tubi to the dealer said “F1 JPN” under “model.” They told me beforehand that it was a race exhaust that wasn’t intended to be street legal. I didn’t care about that either. I’m obviously not going to cut into the exhaust; but I do feel confident that it’s not a regular Tubi or the standard “louder” exhaust. But in the end; we’ll only know for sure by listening to it. The exhaust is in, but I have another 4 weeks before the engine is completely back together. At that point; I will share a video with you all. Got a closer pics of your Tubi EVO muffler tag? Are Tubis in general no longer being made with the Tubi Birdie logo?
