What did you expect? In case you haven't heard yet, there's Covid since about 2 years, endless postponements or cancellations, plus a very serious war in Europe (the US is so far away....). Economies in the toilet, millions of unemployed, insane gas prices (regular Shell gas price this morning on motorway in Switzerland US$ 10 (ten!) per gallon!), inflation like hell, delivery shortages. And travelling is extremely complicated nowadays, with terms and conditions changing by the hour. And I haven't even mentioned yet the left wings, Greta, all the darkgreen environmentalists and their bicycles....... And Covid is still very active and variants are super aggressive, and virtually nobody is wearing a mask...... No good prerequisites at all. Marcel Massini
Well there are some amazing cars, but yes we miss Lukas Hüni, Girardo&Co… I think it’s the first time in 28 years that my personal favourite at Retromobile isn’t a Ferrari! To me it’s George Harrison’s F1, I’ve always dreamt about seeing this car and it finally happened! (It’s due mostly to my passion about Harrison than about the F1 )
There is picture from Brussels 1953. https://library.revsinstitute.org/brussels-motor-show/260461 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Again, that is the SECOND body, not the first original one (Vignale Coupé 2+2) which lasted only four days. See post #2147. Marcel Massini
It didn't have an air intake on the hood until recently. The intake is a fake one anyway. Here's the second Vignale body prior to being painted light metallic. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
Friend saw this one at SPA a few years. Never seen this one. Real deal? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What's up with the bumper on this Lusso? Strange reflections, or rusty? Looking at the rest of the car, rusty seems unlikely.
I did ask the Dutch dealer, no. It is 250GTE based. He was happy he sold a Bizzarrini on the first day. There seemed to be a lot of activity, it appears I sold one classic Maserati based on two conversations without the client even seeing the file, let alone the car. I bet the Artcurial auction Sunday will be as strong as recent sales in the US and Paris.
