New c8 drama. Looks like the plant will shut down again for at least a week, but speculation on the vette forum is that it may last longer. The part that really sucks is that apparently cars that are finished and waiting for transport (mine) won't move during the shutdown. I hope this turns out to not be the case. This **** is really getting old.
If truck isn’t rolling this past week, no trucks are transporting while plant is closed. Let’s hope plant is back on-line, next week.
I don't know how true this is but I heard because of the "chip shortage" GM was shipping C8's without the back up warning system. My understanding is they were going to swap the modules out later. This could be entire BS.
That is correct; no back up warning system for 2022 SR’s until 4Q. Apparently an easy dealer add on component / chip. I personally have no inside info about factory closing for a week, other than reading “reliable “ sources on-line. From what I read, one reason for this weeks closure is Magnetic Ride Control chip and hardware. Granted not all SR’s order that option. It also seems there are supply chain issues for other components to build the car, while GM is searching for alternate suppliers. This whole process for SR’s (and other cars), been a moving / fluid execution. GM will be announcing options and 2023 SR prices, this Wednesday. Suspect will hear more about BG planned production then for balance of 2022 last builds and when 2023 models will go on line, perhaps in April. No prices for Z06 will be announced this week, so I read.
It didn’t take long for me to appreciate it. Using the switches became second nature after a week or so and the aesthetics were much better in person than I expected.
Please excuse the really horrible pictures - I'll put more effort into it with a camera soon. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey All - I posted this in the more general forum as a Thread but have received 0 responses so saw this thread and posting here as well - Cheers ======================= Hi All - I have a good friend who recently purchased a 2022 C8 Z51 - Beautiful car He has one issue and one question and he asked if I would be willing to throw them out on FChat given that many folks on here either own or have deep knowledge of C8s and just the general knowledge depth and interaction in the FChat community even beyond Ferrari's. So here we go - any/all thoughts, input and feedback is always appreciated Issue - Apparently a week or so ago he got a text from OnStar with regard to a fault code as well as his check engine light coming on - He took the car in and they performed some work and stated all was well - two days later the same condition occurred - Obviously this is warranty and am sure the dealership will take care of it but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this - Pic of the service ticket including the code below: Question(s) - He has the factory 305/30/ZR20 Michelins on the rear but wants to swap for 315/30/ZR20s and get some additional contact patch but does not want to adjust offset or introduce any rubbing etc. So two questions: 1) Can he go to 315s without any issues? 2) Can he got to 315s on the rear without changing out the fronts? Pic of the Service Ticket info below - Again, MANY THANKS for any feedback - Cheers Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful! You will love it - My friend (per my earlier thread) was always a Jag guy and decided to go with the C8 and absolutely LOVES it!! Cheers and congratulations
Congratulations! It is a GREAT car and in spite of the wait that all of us endured, it was WORTH IT. PS. I have the same interior. PPS. No, I don't. It looks like you got the GT2 seats (I have GT1)
Thanks! The c8 I sold in the fall had the competition seats and I never got used to them. I always felt like I was sitting on top of the seat bolsters as opposed to sitting between them. I'm not as thin as I used to be, but I'm nowhere near fat - 190lbs and 5'-11". I don't see how anyone could get comfortable in them. I love this car.
Not sure about reveal. Today was some pricing for the 2023 SR. Modest for SR. Most options pricing, not announced, Nor, pricing, yet. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a39505078/2023-chevy-corvette-stingray-pricing/
What I assume (you know what happens then) they did is the "flush" procedure. The procedure calls for the tech to connect the car to a laptop through the OBD port and run the engine for about 20 minutes. The computer tells the transmission pumps to circulate the fluid, so it's a "mechanical" flush rather than fluid draining. Then they replace the used transmission filter (which would have any particles trapped from the flush) and top the fluid up (from fluid lost in the filter change). My understanding is that some clutch material during break in ends up in suspension and can jam up a solenoid in the transmission and cause this. Hope this helps
