Dealer supposed to fix trunk not opening using electric release. said it was the emergency cable. that cable disconnected and no help. Manual cable back seat takes superman to pull, but trunk will open fully.
The electric opening will close properly but when opening will just sound like releasing but trunk will not open. interesting, when then pulling back seat cable much easier after trying electric method.
I have adjusted both the latch on trunk lid and the part fixed to the body with no improvement.
anyone have a method to adjust/modify?
    Thanks

Just fishing here, but when your trunk is unlatched, does it lift with the gas prop rods? I found that my original gas prop rods were not working properly (old) and some times the trunk would unlock but only open if someone was lifting gently at the same time. otherwise it would be queasy stuck, not closed, not open. I replaced the gas prop rods and it works great. Also the rubber bump stops may need to be extended slightly to add a little tension when unlocking.

Same issue as Anthony James on mine. I found if I had a plastic pry tool inside a microfiber I could pull up with one hand while pushing the remote with the other. It would then have enough pressure to open. The struts are completely dead and I've ordered some replacement Stabilus struts.

I researched the dimensions, stroke, force, etc of all the Stabilus and here is the best replacement part I found in the US that had identical dimensions and nearly identical performance:

My original was Stabilus 4924SR 0230N:

    Model: 4924SR
    230 Newton force
    E - Ø piston rod (mm) : 8
    G - Ø pressure tube (mm) : 16
    K - Stroke (mm) : 98

Mine had date code of "304/05 E02" … 304th day of 2005? (though that is October 31st, my car supposedly finished the assembly in October according to the VIN tag, unless that VIN tag is actually the date the build started).

    Replacement Stabilus:

    Model: 5B-7642VA
250 Newton force (slightly higher, last longer)
    E - Ø piston rod (mm) : 8
    G - Ø pressure tube (mm) : 16
    K - Stroke (mm) : 97 (*slightly* shorter)

Available for about $20 each. Will confirm results once I replace.

One comment .... When I received my 2005 612 in September 2021 (purchased from a Ferrari dealer) it had a similar issue although I did not have to use the manual cable. I used the trunk release and found that pressing the button, then pressing again 2 seconds later did the trick. The first press seamed to release the lock and the second press seemed to open some other retention part. I knew this wasn't correct so I lubricated the plastic push up piston and spring and added a tiny silicone bumper (like on the corner of a cabinet door) which gave just a tiny amount more "up" pressure on release.

    No issues since.....

The 5B-7642VA does not work on the trunk. Everything measures the same, except the length of the hydraulic tube which is 3/4" too long when fully closed. Back to the drawing board.
