Would it be wrong for me to put "JAPN 4RE" on the license plate of my NSX? People who don't know cars always ask me if its a Ferrari or if its Italian and stuff and when they find out its an Acura or Honda, they're shocked and tell me how much it looks like a Ferrari.

    Just curious...please, no flames! :)

I've seen one red NSX reads "ASIA F40" in California. I was speechless, but I guss it's all good.

Sounds good to me. You won't get any flames from this direction as I think the NSX is a great car. You'll find lots of NSX owner/former owners here.

If I saw that on the road, I would think you're trying really hard to be something you're not.

Yeah, there is a NSX owner in Bellingham, WA that posted here once, I saw his car and his plate read: NZO WHO I think the NSX is a fine car in it's own right and the comparison is not needed. I'd skip the Ferrari reference. None needed. Why cater to the ignorant? :)

I think maybe you should try it on a custom license plate frame, not on the plate itself.

Well, I own NSX and have had experiences with a few F-car (355, 360, 512 TR, 328, 348)...I must say that NSX is a very different animal...

Don't try to be what you are not...NSX IS NOT A FERRARI...

I enjoy both car a lot, they are just different...and you should be proud of the fact that NSX is what it is...a turely remarkable car in its own right... It doesn't need to be under the shadow of a Ferrari...

I do get asked quite a few time what it is... people generally don't believe it's a Honda...but what the heck...I love it.

Now, if having the license plate "JAPN 4RE" will make you happy, then do it. You don't need to worry about what other think...ha ha...and enjoy the car, bring it to the track and trash it...you will not believe what it can do with little V6.

Well, I would intend for it to be more of a joke than trying to be something I'm not. I was considerng a F355 before I bought my NSX. I could have afforded the car itself but the maintence on it was a hefty price for me so the NSX was my better alternative. Hopefully I will own a Ferrari sometime in the very near future!

Another reason I would use that as my licenseplate is because most people start telling me the history of my OWN car! LOL "Ya, so Acura made that to be the Japanese Ferrari basically...blah blah blah" Even had one guy tell me that they made a model with PADDLE SHIFTERS! LMAO

    Thanks guys

He is right. The auto NSX's have up/down shift buttons on the steering wheel. This is what they are calling "paddle shifters"

Yes, I told him that they have something like that (I don't believe its paddles though...simply buttons like a typical triptronic, just not in the gearbox). He was trying to tell me they have a clutchless manual tranny with paddle shifters! hehe

    Get the real thing? soon..............

    Im lost...whats 4ZA 4RE???

I'm probably in the minority, but I've never liked personalized license plates (or frames) on any car -- kind of like adding an extra (unnecessary) emblem IMO.

Your NSX is worthy brethren -- but no need to put a F reference on it...

PS 4ZA = FORZA (you know the other part;))

I agree, forget the reference to Ferrari, and be proud of your NSX in its on right.Or............buy an F car.NSX's are great cars, don't let anyone tell you different. I wouldn't mind having one as a daily driver.

I have seen something like that here in Ca. I have even heard people refer to NSX's as "Japanese Ferrari's". So, Why not?

Interesting subject. My NSX was my 1st real sports car.
Then I purchased my 355 . They are totally a different
auto's to me in many ways. Its like the apple to orange
comparison.I personally enjoy the Ferrari more for a lot
of different reasons but I still love the NSX's .

Both of which named correctly for ME.

PS THE NSX is for sale currently@ 50k w/ over 100k invested.

As for the how to name my NSX plate subject I think it's tacky to
refer to F car .I prefer to call it what it is .
    MYNSX
    NSXR
    NSXTACY
    etc.etc.

My honest opinion is (don't get offended)
if I saw someone in an NSX with that license plate
the first thing that would go through my mind is
    LOOSER.

The second thing that would go through my mind is
I'd feel sorry for the guy.

If I ever got my hands on an Enzo I'd be tempted to put "NSX" on the plate.

Some guys just take this stuff way too serious. ( I have the most fun teasing those guys )

Just remember, these are fun-time toys to have fun with,...not Blue-blood symbols of Old England and the class system.

Put what ever you want on your NSX... 98% of the people you meet in the real world are not car nuts anyway.
