With respect, I hope the pricing surge takes a break. I just got back from an hour drive on the freeways of Houston's West side....of course it was the main attraction. But I thought about Clarkson's quote on the ethos of the car in his first review, the "working class hero". Unfortunately, the working class enthusiast can no longer afford one....when even salvage cars are $250k+. At some point soon, I may have to limit its usage because of the value.

Was watching a youtube video by John Temarian, the Lamborghini expert who runs We are Curated in Miami. He had a FGT in stock (very rarely he said) and he chipped in that Ford made so many.....well you sure as hell don't see them on the road in public.

Personally, I prefer no stripe. But it seems that stripe cars get more $$ and sell quicker.

BAT is definitely bringing substantially more money than the conventional auctions. That has to be very discouraging to both the auction houses and the sellers.

??? both are 5,000 mile cars that bid up to and over $400k....nothing wrong with either bid.

I personally wouldn’t buy a stripe less car, but my first choice was white a couple of years ago when these were $250k cars.

I think he is comparing those bids to recent transactions on BAT which have been to the moon.

yup. And i thought White being rare would be commanding more but it seems market does not like white stripeless.

But then again, an acquaintance of mine recently bought head designer Camilo Pardo's personal car he owned from the beginning....yep white stripeless.

The highest sold price on BAT for a 5,000+ mile non-heritage car is $413k, and only one other such car broke the $400k barrier. I'm sure the sellers were thrilled.

Upon further review, you are 100% correct. That Mecum sale, adjusted for miles, is more than any non-Heritage on BAT. I was bad wrong.

No problem, prices are changing so fast it’s hard to keep up. I’m starting to give some thought about selling mine but would have no idea how to price it. Looked at autotrader yesterday, but saw nothing under $380k. As you know, mine has a couple of stories so I keep wondering if it would be a high $2xx or a low $3xx price.

Oh well, looking forward to your review of the 812GTS.....of all your cars, it is the only one I wish I had....LOL.

Kid Rock’s 3,500 mile Red/white stripe car hammered for $638,000 over the weekend.

So they paid $200,000 for the Kid Rock ownership history?

Looks that way. Eventually, that'll be the "normal" price.

Eh. Given asking prices on red/white cars it is not that outrageous for a 1 owner (rock star) from Michigan.

I wouldn’t pay a 34% premium for a Kid Rock car....it’s not like he is Steve McQueen, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, etc in terms of celebrity car guys.

He is more on the order of buying Jon Voights LeBaron.

    Maybe?

According to Hagerty's, that's about the price of a #2 car, and that one seems to be a lot nicer than that.

Easter Sunday seems like a terrible time to have an auction end.

What is the record for an 05/06 GT? $700k? Probably a heritage livery with low miles?
