    Rather four different photos from four different places and countries.
    Photo #2 is mine and was taken in Switzerland ages ago.
    Photo #3 shows George Dyer's Miura and GTO 4219 GT (now Brandon Wang) in Hillsborough/CA.
    Photo #4 shows 166 MM Barchetta Touring #0010 M when owned by Warren Sankey and later fchatter George Jewett of San Mateo/CA.

    There already is a section for fakes (= recreations/non-period rebodies) as a sub forum right here in vintage section.
    The main problem with excessive influx of these picture of fakes is that individuals eagerly posting/sharing tons of pictures don’t even try bothering with any off-line/preliminary research & verify the authenticity/originality of the subject (or image copyrights, etc) before posting.
    But I guess that’s what todays online/social media drama/exhibition/influencer queens are all about. Just more, more, more …

    I understand what you are saying, and agree. However, myself as an example, like Ferraris, but do not have the knowledge to spot a fake, except the bad ones. Therefore, I may post a picture asking about a car, or think I may know it's type. I do think some look very nice, and perform very well.

    I sometimes wonder how someone can be sure of a s/n just from a picture, but realize that some of these cars are made in such limited numbers, it's possible.

    Perry, I agree it can be difficult, but appears some are so eager to "share", they probably won't even try, but as I said it also seems for them it's more important to be first than accurate/correct/right.
    While I've never been to facebook/instagram/twitter/etc "sharing"(?) platforms, nor do have interest or time for such, I've been lead to believe they're even worse for such than this site.
    OTOH, I've always believed "When in doubt ... ", but the world we live in now seems to approach all this differently. Oh well.
    Perhaps this thread could/should be moved somewhere where subjects being fake or real wouldn't matter ?
