Got it. I'm reminded of a story about a well known Ferrari customer who wanted an Enzo. He didn't get one from his dealer. No other dealer could sell to him. SOL.
Reading your account made a thought pop into my head. I think you need to be working directly with the General Manager. I would pick the blend of closest/best dealer, and reach out to the GM. I would have a detailed dialogue relating to both your ownership history (both past and present) and your pain points (both past and present). I would be stunned if the GM wouldn’t work hard to get more of your money, more often and faster. You buy a ton of cars and you are somewhat indifferent between new/used, and largely indifferent about the selling dealer. Your account is a major opportunity for an enterprising businessman, and you need to working with a businessman, not a low time horizon salesperson. Just my thoughts. As always, YMMV.
could be but now that I think about it they are on there third ownership since I have been dealing with them ... that could be something...I am not really complaining just saying alls fine by me... I like FOW service and never had an issue with service...
I think this is the best/most accurate answer in the whole thread. It's feast or famine and a lot of people leave places where they are the top salesperson and receive a massive financial shock - some go back, less stick it out. The last line is definitely true, especially with respect to new car allocation. Not to mention, some places will set maxes on (used) commissions and charge you back for a draw if you had a couple down months - people wonder why sales guys don't want to spend an hour giving a tour twice a day. You literally can have an established sales person making 10x a newer guy in any given month. Some places do team-pay to offset this, but that's another conversation. One thing that can be nice though is the gifts from appreciative customers, but those can be hard to enjoy if one isn't making a steady income, which can take years to establish even, or perhaps, especially, in a hot market.
