430 Has any one used the 430 dome light to power a dash cam or backup camera mirror?

    Noticed there is a small gap between the windshield and the dome light housing where a wire could easily poke out to power either a dash cam or one of those mirrors with a wireless backup camera.

    Has anyone done this? Seems to me this would make an easy install where you don’t have to remove a ton of trim in the car.

    I do. Mine is wired to dash cam with a 5v inverter in line and a direct cable to my valentine 1

    Do you have a wiring diagram that you used to tap off the connections or did you just map it out using a meter?

    I'd be interested in seeing a diagram of this too... need to hardwire a V1 and my headliner is being replaced so the timing is good!

    I just use a meter to figure out a switched positive.

    I'm running a V1 radar detector from a short power lead to the dome light. Works great!

    OK, problem #1 to the project.

    I went to buy this because a thread I found here from a few year ago said this is needed to mount one of these reverse camera mirrors to the Ferrari mount and it's not available anymore.

    Ok, may have found one. I assume our windshield mount is the same as the Fiat 500, it looks the same in the diagrams I see online.

    The Fiat 500 forums say to use this one...
