New rules and regulations for 2022 to emphasize a budget cap. The days of spending over $400 million a year are over for now....to include Ferrari and Redbull.
SKY keep saying this weekend is biggest crowd for a sporting event in Australia.... except the last Adelaide GP had 500k+ and 210k on race day...........
i was pulling from F1. Obviously read it too close to the e d of the race, but still Ferrari has a healthy lead was the point.
if it’s as simple as creating a floor that harmonizes with the body design, maybe they’ll find that 1 sec per lap they supposedly had in hand on the simulator. I just don’t think it’s that simple…I could be wrong though (as I have been before). It just seems that any gains Merc make will be countered by Ferrari gains.
I honestly cannot see Mercedes challenging for the title this year. They are too far behind and will need several upgrades to bring their car to the same pace as Ferrari and Red Bull. Time and budget cap will put a brake on that. Damage limitation yes, but I see them finish 3rd or 4th in the WCC, at best.
This is why the team(s) that get a good car straight out of the box will keep the advantage. Performance wise, Ferrari and Red Bull are more of less equal, but the Red Bull suffers from unrelibility this year.
Never count them out for wins, but they've got deeper problems. It isn't just a matter of an upgrade here, or a setup change there. If it was that simple the team would've done that already. Their engineers have been at this a long a time. That no matter what the mechanics throw at the car setup wise does it change the behavior and speed of the car, is a clear tell that Mercedes have fundamental design flaws they will have to live with for the season, just as we did in 2009 and 2014. It was bound to happen sooner or later to the them.
The MB isn’t as bad a car as everyone makes it out to be. Currently second in the WCC-yes they’ve been lucky but people act like LH and GR are driving the worst car on the grid. It isn’t.
Can't help but wonder if Red Bull are running the Honda to its max just to keep up with Ferrari, and are suffering reliability for it.
Horner said it wasn't the PU during a post-race interview. Horner said it was fuel related.....again. Take it for what it's worth.
It's not so much that Mercedes have a bad car, as it is Ferrari and Red Bull are just far quicker, and Mercedes went for a design that just doesn't work.
Beats Albert Parks previous record by 19k but as mentioned before at least 100k less than Adelaide's last GP in the 90's. Silverstone only manages to get 350k for comparison. Image Unavailable, Please Login
