I dunno…at 8.5% inflation prices can probably stay high for longer than we might otherwise think.

That's a good point, I think it will help but inflation will settle down at some point.

But will it…? The only real path forward for the massive global sovereign debt is through inflation. Plus, with geo political tensions seizing up normal trade relations, unchecked COVID running through China forcing the lockdown of entire industrial centers, along with fully rounding the peak of cheap/easy oil, unwinding inflation will require almost divine intervention.

Three years from now, a 458 could be $285,000, but really $185,000 in 2019 dollars.

Chip issues will remain if not get worse this year, I'm dealing with it now to some extent. Geopolitical is pretty much always there but of course now it's Russia. Not long ago it was China. Higher interest rates will help offset inflation in terms of people buying stuff. For example many will not be able to afford the same home or car they can finance now. Cash buyers will be in a great position. Any number of things will come into play but I still feel prices will adjust down. Just keep some dry powder laying around, it should get interesting here soon.

IMO, I don't think the 458 is appreciating cause the used car market is crazy. Used car market is crazy, because of the shortage of new vehicles and eqpt. That applies to non supercar buyers, that need a daily driver and have to default to a used car, due to the shortages. Example, last year I ordered my daughter a new GLA, which was delayed beyond a time we could accept. Luckily we located one unaccounted for on the ship over and took that one. If not, would have went pre-owned. If I was looking to buy a Tributo or the likes, the one year lead time on the cars wouldn't default me or any buyer I think, to to 458. I think if that buyer is looking for modern, they would buy a pre-owned 488. I believe the 458 has a niche 100% as the last NA V8 Ferrari, and the balance of turbo charged (488, F8/ Tributo) will also eventually gain and hold momentum, in that at least they are still V8s. However I feel that the 458 of the final three V8s, will always command top dollar...

What do you think the “tributo” model is? It is the F8 Tributo. https://www.ferrari.com/en-US/auto/f8-tributo

That's very true. The F8 or 296 buyer wants the most recent design, tech, performance etc. I'd be hard pressed to find any F8 / 296 / SF90 buyer who's also looking at the 458.

Fine, the market will bust imminently, and the majority on here who think the 458 is a classic are all wrong, along with all the experts.

Nope, no interest. I'd only consider a Speciale.

YES, the only real winner is the person wanting to sell their Ferrari outright. i.e not replace it with another Ferrari.

I’d take a 458 for 2019 prices for my daily/beater Ferrari but no way would I see it as a classic unless it’s the speciale. It’s old, outdated and way to many of them rolling around to be a real classic.

A modern car as an investment is a fools game that in time will bite you. Far better to invest in commercial real estate or your own educational tools.

Antique and Classic car investment (1 million dollar cars and up , think prewar and Enzo era) are another game completely.

True but to add some context to that statement - some butts are old and unshapely and some are not.
