To me it is not a 'new model', it has to be a customized client car. It is essentially a completed car, has the Roma nose cone, the extended/stretched front hood (area from front bumper to A-pillar as imaged earlier in this thread), has an 812 rear glass (excepting the high mount brake light) and Roma taillights and rear section. How could that much effort be simply a test mule? Stretching the front hood area alone makes no sense much less grafting an 812 rear glass on to a Roma rear section. Like you said, they would not use an 812 rear hatch on a new model. And then the car is lightly camouflaged and the rear exhaust appears solid/completed and not something typically seen on mules (with various wires, hanging parts, etc). Nothing on the car appears incomplete in any way.
With all due respect this makes zeros sense. They aren’t going to debut a one off with a camo wrap. Who is going to request a Roma with a 812 rear deck. The designs don’t match and it looks silly. Also if someone did say “give me a Roma with a V12” Ferrari ain’t gonna do it! They rejected Eric Claptons request (as well as others) for a V12 Italia. Additionally I think it takes them very little effort to throw different body panels on a mule as a disguise.
weird that they're letting you see it so early, can you tell me if you've seen the Le Mans hypercar or at least some sketches?
I do not know. That said, it looks like a finished car, does not have the disheveled look of a test mule. I presume it is a special projects car, front bonnet it sized for a V12. Whatever it is, I noticed the back 'window' is taped over, sure hope that is not the 'new thing' (no back glass)
The picture was taken by a very experienced spotter from Maranello familiar with the sound of Ferrari's engines. He named this mule the Roma V12.
Is it just me or do those wheels look massive? Like 22s or 23s in the rear. Maybe it’s just the offset and sitting so much lower than the standard Roma, but they look huge.
Sounds more like a V12 than a V8tt to me. The proportions of that car look quite bit larger than the Roma.
I have no insider info or anything like that, but it seems logical that the LaF successor would be the platform that would reveal a new powertrain. Iconas, based on the last two, are developed on existing platforms and don’t unveil new technologies, powertrains or platforms. But I might be completely wrong, will be exciting to find out.
I doesn’t sound that good. Maybe intentionally subdued. I hope it is v12. But please don’t be hybrid!
