812 Replacement Rumors

There’s no GT style Icona yet, could be that. An ultra luxury 2+2 GT with a V12 for the ultimate Ferrari collector to use on daily basis. Then it makes sense that it’s based on the Roma, for the interior space.

 

Is it possible that they’re testing the V6 from the 296 in the Roma? How sure are we that it’s a V12?

From a design standpoint….I hope the eventual 812 replacement takes its styling and design cues from the Roma. I’d like to see fewer “racer” flourishes and graphics on the next v12.

A cleaner, more elegant (yet purposeful) look would be appreciated. Let the SF90 carry the aggressive sports car edge. The next v12 should be a clean, sexy piece of sensual sculpture….with a screaming engine note.

And call it the “Milan”.

Agree 100%, and I love the name!

 

A sleek slightly more aggressive Roma, (longer front end) but without the cheese grater grille….more traditional V12 Grille, perfect in my mind, as long as it is a V12 - hopefully NA maybe one last version…..please….pretty please.

It still needs to deliver over 900hp (to top the outgoing 812) and put it close to the SF90.

Until now, nobody has confirmed a new V12 was in the pipeline.
Just wild speculation from all of us.

I know this is a thing of personal taste, but I couldn't disagree more. Soft looking cars are Astons. Ferraris sould be "racy".

 

I tend to agree. Rumors on Aventador replacement are for V12 with battery assist and huge HP numbers. Can’t imagine Ferrari willingly falling behind here. Unless they plan to compete in that segment with the SF90 line and iterate from there.

I agree with this. Front engined V12 Ferraris need to look both aggressive and masculine and not feminine and delicate. The 812SF fits this brief perfectly whereas the F8 is a prettier more feminine car. I hope the 812s replacement doesn't go too 'pretty. !
In terms of engine I'm pretty certain it'll be a much smaller capacity V12 with hybrid assist to give it the 900HP in needs albeit with some weight gain.

 

I think the front engined (yes I know they’re mid) V12s should look more like the 275 and 250 series of the 1950s and ‘60s. Leave the fins, ducts, and more bodacious curves for the more “exotic” rear mid-engined cars. Best of both worlds. However, there should always be something “Italian” in the design, something a little exaggerated, a little quirky, you need to come to the design and fall in love with it. Astons don’t do that (for me) generally, though the new Vantage is more interesting.

As I told you, it is the reverse design of the 812, much simpler and the rear is the strong point.
Is it more harmonious than an 812?
yes, without hesitating for a second, and in my opinion will be unanimous !

 

The more I hear about this car, the more I want to see it! But it does seem that we’re far away from the unveiling.

Historically there has been about an 18 month difference between unveiling the VS of the last gen and the new gen. Although this time the production numbers are higher as they include the Competizione A.

It sounds like it has turbos. Muted exhaust and it sounds as if he's shifting at a lower RPM.

 

Sound is not impressive from this video. I’ll tKe my 6.5L engine sound, with all of its flash and busy-ness.
