WTFFFFFFFF I wanted to get one next year. Jesus Ferrari increase your production capacity... Argh what a bummer.
It's interesting that despite the apparent shortage of cars and relatively tight other windows, the pre owned market in the UK is fairly weak, none of the recent models trades above sticker, best performing is the GTS which is just around sticker with only a handful cars on the market Appears that the UK is 'oversupplied' relative to other markets, while at the same time UK sticker prices appear to be lower vs North America... Wonder if going forward they will redistribute allocations to other markets
Likely perfect timing for a Roma Spider next year so you have a chance for that. Alternatively I’m sure someone will drop their Roma order so still might be worthwhile getting on their waitlist now, especially if it just closed. It’ll take a year+ for your order to come due most likely anyway so try to get in now.
Wow, thanks for the tip. I’m sure RHD keeps that market very localized. If it weren’t for that, I’d be looking to import an SF or GTS right about now.
I have little interest in the Spider (I think open top sports cars make the driver look ridiculous, like a pimple) but I do think I need to try and get on a list at least and hope I have the funds ready when/if my spot gets an allocation.
Just got word that maybe some dealers are still taking in orders for Romas. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
yes i think we need to move away from the traditional and hierarchical model line up structure ie V8 front engine, V8 mid-engine, V12 family GT, V12 sport GT , and more into 'different Ferraris for different customers' ....hence why some cars might be controversial with 'traditionalists' ie the Roma that didn't really fit into that structure
Meaning more total models and more choice but fewer of each model run? Or that models will refresh more often so smaller model runs before refreshes?
Our dealer is having a 'take a Roma demo for an evening' offer through 4/22 -- would be awful timing for a promotion like that if you really can't get one. My guess is that your dealer saying that is oversubscribed for its allocations already. When they cut 812 GTS orders, our dealer was about 40% oversold for spots, and a bunch of F8/F8 Spider deposits that still might not get allocations. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As of today, looks like dealers are taking orders for the 296 GTS as well as the Roma, though YMMV on the latter depending on your dealer. I was hoping we'd get more than once announcement today, like another V12 car.
The Roma book is not closed. If your dealer already has sold/taken deposits on their estimated allocation for the year, they are on hold for new orders. But the book is not closed. Having said that, I had been on the waiting list for 6 months without getting an allocation. A used 2021 came into our local dealer with a color I loved and with most of the options I really wanted, so I jumped on it so I didn’t have to wait another year or 18 months.
Dropped a deposit for a 296GTS today. Dealer said coupe order book may be closing at the end of the month… SV
Some dealers already stopped taking 296GTB orders as they are at or over allocation. That said, I think the books will officially close before end of summer at this point. The question then becomes, what's left available to order?
They are still taking orders at my local dealer on the 296GTB, a friend of mine put his order in a couple of weeks ago no mention of stopping orders on the coupe at that time. I know at the time he asked where he was on the list they said he was number 30 or thereabouts. What is interesting as we all know with the GTS announcement deposits are now being taken, I went in yesterday and put a deposit on a GTS and when I asked where I am on that list I was told number 37 so obvious way more interest it would appear on the 296 GTS.
A couple of weeks is a long time. It all depends on the location of the dealer as well and how many allocations they are likely attributed...it's very much so plausible the allocations at lots of dealerships are sold out already.
I don't get it... No more SF90 ? According to this post, this member recelntly ordered a SF90 spider https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148505540/ And what about the 296 ? the order book is definitely closed ? or is it another problem ( shortage ?)
