Léon is a French Bulldog. I heard French Bulldog is now the second favorite breed in USA. Very famous in Switzerland as well. They are so famous there is a lot of illegal trafficking. Léon is a rescue dog. He was abandoned twice and was living in a room without walking, without care, without love. We proposed to the foundation which rescued him to be foster family. He should stay only 2 weeks because we already had 3 dogs. But he is by us since almost 4 years... He is the nicest dog I could imagine. So gentle, sweet and harmless. Since then, my wife is full time volunteer for Bouledogue Attitude (www.bouledogueattitude.ch), the Foundation, and I became the president. Just to say: guys, beware of the French Bulldogs ! They will change your life forever and you will never have enough time to drive a Ferrari anymore… Image Unavailable, Please Login
They are JM, as is every doggy at the moment. I had a look online to see what Lab pups are selling for these days and noticed breeders don't list prices for the pups anymore. Last time I looked was when we purchased Oscar nearly 12 years ago. Anyway, I found a breeder near Toowoomba, gave her a call just to ask the going rate for a Lab pup these days and her pups were $4000 for a boy and $5000 for a girl. I paid $1200 each for Oscar and Poncho from the same breeder 12 and 13 years ago. Unfortunately that lady has retired now and does not breed them. Looks like the "Covid tax" has not only hit cars and properties.......................it'***** Labrador pups too lol.
In Switzerland, COVID slowed down the abandonments. People stayed home and had time for their dogs. Since COVID is not a big deal anymore, there is more dogs to rescue. The difference is the age of the dogs. We have more pups to rescue because people bought young dogs and had no clue what it is to educate and taking care of an animal. So sad…
I'm pretty sure it's the same everywhere. People have a driving licence for their car and in a better world, they should have a licence for their dog...
Our Boston Terrier loves the Frenchies as well Our first Boston was a rescue dog - liberated from a puppy farm by the RSPCA. Aston was such a lovely dog that when we got over the grief of him passing away after a long battle with cancer, we found Alfie and he continues to fill our life with joy.
