2X2 carbon weave from Ferrari

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, did you find any photo of 2x2 especially on a 812?

I’ve never seen a standard 3k 2x2 on a modern Ferrari. I’ve seen 6k 2x2 as backing/reinforcement on say a cf engine lid, but thats about it.

 

Ferrari does something special with their 1x1 plain weave carbon most other manufacturers don’t do. They lay it out in a 45 degree angle giving a diamond shape effect as opposed to a square effect. Since carbon isn’t woven this way, Ferrari actually wastes alot of carbon material to achieve this look.

Got it. I was in at TM in Maranello a couple of weeks ago and saw it in person (and looked beautiful), but I can't find any picture of a car with it. So I'll stick to the 1x1

The pic above with the larger weave is my Pista Spider. I can say it is 100% more noticeable in person. The standard weave almost looks like black plastic when you're further away from the car whereas the larger weave pops a bit more and is visible without having to get super close.

 

Indeed. On a Pista it makes sense, on a 812 GTS I'd like to see how it looks. The photoshop mockup in Maranello doesn't look realistic, it's a bit hard to imagine how it would look like in real life.

 

I can share pictures of a Pista and 812 that have the 2x2 carbon. I’ll share the pictures later this day. You can also spec the kick plate in carbon with larger weave. Just an idea

The color is Verde Wojo.

 

That color suits the Pista Spider so well. Beautiful specification!
