I tried to look for a thread but nothing came up when I did a search. looking for some insight into the correct alignments for a 575M. My 2005 575M needs rear tires that are completely shot on the inside lip with 75% thread left on the outside. I have a receipt from Ferrari of Silicon Valley for 4 tires and a 4 wheel alignment, so why are the tires shot after a little less than 5000 miles on California highways?

I have technical bulletin #1096 subject Optional "Fiorano" handling Package (6 pages, attached) which my 575M has. Are these the best settings to use or is there another thought out there to avoid chewing up tires at this rate? Anyone have any experience with other setting?

Taz, do you know how much lower the non-US FHP cars ride, than their equivalents without the FHP?

Darius- 10.2 mm in front and 7.1 mm rear. Same ride height for Euro and US vanilla 575Ms and US FHPs.

Thank you for responding, I just return home and was able to login. A couple of quick questions.

Does it make any sense to change to Euro spec for height and alignment? I am assuming better driving dynamics (sportier) but sacrificing some ride comfort (how much)? Comments

Is there a factory bulletin or a PDF with Euro specifications?

My 2005 575M needs rear tires that are completely shot on the inside lip with 75% thread left on the outside. Is this normal it height and alignment are correctly set at factory specs?

Frank- The specs are posted above for all non-FHP 575Ms, Euro FHP 575Ms, and US FHP 575Ms from the WSM. You can use the FHP ride height and very slightly different rear camber numbers if dragging the spoiler and a stiffer ride is acceptable. FHP alignment was optimized for stiffer front and rear springs and thicker rear anti-roll bar, so not sure you will notice much difference. Especially since your 575M has a steering position sensor, updated shock ECU, and possibly a half set of HGTC shocks and new shock mounts all around. You really do not need any changes for good handling.

Your tires likely wore like that after she was strapped down for delivery on a truck/trailer and the alignment was pulled out of spec. I had the same thing happen to mine when she was first delivered (14 years ago), only on a front set of tires. Get new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, have an alignment done by a good shop and see how you like her before making any big changes. Any good shop can align her since our V12s use eccentrics instead of the shims used on most Ferraris.

Taz; That is what I was looking for, real world experience. Tires are on order, shop is ready. Just trying to find the time to drop her off for a couple of days. Time is my problem not speed. lol

Frank- Should not take more than 2 hours for wheels and tires and alignment unless you have them adjust ride height. That is a little more involved and requires a spring compressor to do a good job without stripping the ring nut threads on the shock.
