A Tesla ticks none of my boxes. Neither does a 308. The 430 was a car I had enjoyed though.

I think there is a middle ground, the future hybrid cars will not become worthless but everything that came before will become more sought after because the experience of driving will be more sense related than just performance related. Take a 360 CS, not a fast car today but as an experience it is incredible. Does 296 interest me as much as a 812, definitely not because the latter to me by virtue of its power train is much more exciting.

Manufacturers are chasing numbers without considering what constitutes usable performance.

Unfortunately nobody is immune from change including Ferrari. Even us humans need to evolve just to survive long term, the same as cars. I'm extremely confident that both Ferrari and Porsche have the engineering talent to keep ahead of the curve. This constant evolution won't please everybody but such is life.
For me personally as a current 812 owner I can't imagine any future car providing as much soul or excitement but maybe that's just me showing my age.
I absolutely love the new 296GTS although the hybrid complexity and being a quite heavy car puts me off ordering one for the time being. Really looking forward to the 812s replacement but Ferrari will really have their work cut out to surpass the 812 from a purely emotion pov.

Even though I wish Ferrari and other brands don't race towards an electric future, I think it's the unfortunate future we will have to live with. That is why my Pista will not be going anywhere anytime soon. Our Roma serves as a good GT car for the time being until we hopefully replace it with an 812 replacement. I'm really praying that they do one more V12..

Having said that, I did order a 296GTB that should be around 18-24 months outs. I want to at least try out the hybrid tech before rendering judgement on whether it's something I like or can live with. If not, I'll be perfectly happy keeping my Pista and maybe replacing the Roma with a pre-owned 812 down the line.

Keep the Pista. It's kinda off everyone's radar for now with all the new cars being announced, but for sheer enjoyment that car is virtually impossible to beat. Even for a turbo charged car. It's one of the best looking Ferrari's to date and has visceral and mind bending performance that draws you in. It will be highly sought after in the future.....

I missed out on being able to order any of the pre-hybrid Ferraris as decided only a couple of months ago that I want to definitely purchase a F-car. While a bit bummed that pre-owned is the only option available to me at this point if I don't want a hybrid, I elected to place a deposit on a 296 GTS nonetheless and also am in market for a lightly used 812 SF. Think most car manufacturers are headed in this direction so might as well jump on the bus and give the technology a try...

So the 167 won’t be hybrid? I thought a while back you said it was. Unless I’m getting my numbers mixed up [emoji848]

Complicated? F167 is not hybrid, but it is complicated? Hmm...is the complication that it could be hybrid??

"mild hybrid" means a 48v system...

    https://www.seg-automotive.com/48v/mild-hybrid-technology/

    from link:
    Mild-Hybrid

With mild hybrids, the main drive is the combustion engine. The e-machine primarily serves to improve efficiency: Braking energy is recovered, stored in a small 48V battery (~0.5 - 1 kWh), and used for additional torque and to supply the on-board electrical system. This saves 15-25% of fuel consumption, depending on the topology. Purely electric driving is not possible at all or only with severe restrictions.

Perhaps they have decided to produce two replacements for the 812.
One with front engine and the other with rear engine ?
