Spunds like a nightmare situation but I think it’s safe to say that’s a very rare scenario and with a bit of careful planning you could avoid such situations in the future, nevertheless IMO the risk is certainly worth the reward.

My 488 has the lift and just about clears our driveway, it’s also very tight with some of the huge speed humps where we live, that why I went for the non AF, not too sad about it. U.K. will miss the visual look of the rear spoiler

Not yet, our TM session is set for the end of June. We plan on going into it with ideas and inspiration, but also let the TM designers do their magic. Its only our 2nd Ferrari and we are loving the first that much, haha!! I will definitely keep you updated as we move along.

Be interesting to see if they offer the lift in the VS variant. Eeek out some more power from updated batteries and maybe a slight bump to the ICE coupled with reduced weight, but if the suspension is softer than an AF car it would seem odd.

IMO - AF car is great if you plan to track and only really drive rather spirited, but there is definitely some bounce to the suspension being so stiff. Never felt the suspension in my Pista or SF90 Stradale non AF car was too soft. Everyone talks about the loss of the lifter, but the loss of Bumpy Road Mode too is for me a big takeaway as there are times where I just prefer the softer suspension. All personal preference, no doubt the AF carbon inner doors and the carbon ducktail wing are awesome looking.

If the VS car sits lower than the regular car, and perhaps have more aggressive aero protruding further in the front, then it would be a proper nightmare to drive anywhere without lift. I'm surprised at how much more the SF90 scrapes/bottoms out during spirited driving compared to the 488, F8 and Pista. It definitely sits pretty low as is, so dropping it another 10-20 mm which is not uncommon for a VS car, definitely makes a lifter a good option. Hope it's possible to get.

On the flipside, perhaps Ferrari intentionally wants to focus the car so much towards the track, that they see a lack of streetability as part of the cars nature. This would surprise me though, as Ferrari have always been so good at building cars that was meant for driving and that worked brilliantly in the real world.

My car never scraped once during spirited driving or otherwise, I’ve had installed scrape shields just in case, not a mark on them, never had any issues caused by lack of lift.
I remember the times when lift didn’t exist and I managed so many different sports cars in all situations without any major issues, if you know how to approach obstacles at an angle etc. you will always be ok. Maybe the roads are better where I am, who knows? I wouldn’t think twice buying a non lift car, enjoying that magical suspension 100% of the time is far more rewarding than lifting your nose now and then.
