I am getting an AVH error frequently when trailing the brake in slow/stationary traffic. If I restart the car it seems to reset itself. Anyone seen this before?

Thanks - it's in the dealer for its warranty check in a week, so I'll get them to replace

Same thing happened to my F12. The dealer replaced the brake switch, and it went away.

Only if you pull out the plastic vent over the top which removes the weather seal across the lower windshield inviting water penetration. Mine was factory sealed and I chose to keep it that way.

A DIY thread for this would be helpful if anyone could share their knowledge :) … seems to be a problem for cars of this era

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone care to instruct on where to install the switch DIY? Just not sure where exactly to be looking.

Had same issue, random avh/mannetino error and drops into wet mode. Noticed it would seem to cooespond to brake activation.. replaced the brake pedal switch, no more issues. Replacing was NOT easy to access. Ended up taking off front dash panel to get better access

    DIY process
1 remove lower front dash (for easier access). certainly need remove felt(?) under shield with the illumination lamp
2 find the switch (is white) and is facing back to front high up on the metal brake pedal arm - looks like image here. flashlight and removal of front dash panel helps.
3 switch can be de-attached by twisting 90degrees from its holder
4 bring switch down to disconnect the connector
5 attach new switch - use old switch as a guide on how "long" the detent should protrude from the switch - is click adjustable height
6 hardest part... replace the switch into the holder. Switch is keyed to go in a specific orientation, then twist 90degrees to secure the switch. note face on view here, the rounds on the side fit to the holder , and helps to have small hands.

there are also you-t videos available on similar switch replacements - not exactly the same, but similar enough you can get the idea

Just had my F12 in for service. While there these same issues came up and they replaced the brake switch. Apparently this is a common thing as they knew exactly what the problem was, and had the switch in stock.
