Not in my experience. I own 2 993s. One for since 1998 and the other since 2012. Have put approx 120k miles between the 2. I’ll take the Pepsi challenge on reliability/maintenance costs with any car - and certainly an NSX. Between the 2 cars, I’ve needed a total of 1 alternator. That’s it other than normal maintenance. No timing belt changes, no gearbox issues, no window regulator issues which affect NSXs.

Of all the Porsches and cars I have owned, I have never driven a 993 Turbo at speed. Parking lots only. Strange. All of mine have been N.A. cars. Nice to drive, but not ear to ear smiles. The 355, can never stop grinning! I was watching YouTube 355 videos last night and hearing the exhaust on one video, I laughed and cackled out loud. A 993 or NSX will never make you do that. Never! Some rando’ 355 video on the TV and you just “get it” if you know.

Spiders should be worth more. GTS, then Spider then Berlinetta for production numbers. I know the Berlinetta is a beauty. It is stiff. It handles great, but having owned two, I can say that the GTS and the Spider create more rewards. I need to find away to pump this Spider value lag. They need to be just a hair less, not 30% or more :-/

Yes, I know. They’re both relatively similar mechanically but for the obvious extras of the TT. That said, IMO they kinda blew it with the TT. The NA is much more visceral. Especially the steering which is fabulous on the NA and numb and overboosted on the TT.

They should have included an narrow body NA in that test. And the F355 should have won.

993 C2S or RS would be my choices for the 993 platform.

Same with my 993, in 15 years/80K miles. It's like owning a Camry. Absolutely wonderful car.

Maybe 5-10% in this market. Accidents are only a problem if your car was built after 1981 due to Carfax and AutoCorrect monetizing accidents. Think about all of the muscle cars from the 50s-70s that have been crashed and now sell for exorbitant amounts of money. I believe accident history will mean less in the future, as these cars are now almost 30 years old.

Car does appear to have the correct early bumper (without the vent slots in black area), so that's a plus it was fixed and not replaced with a newer unit, for originality.

Not this car per say, but generally speaking.... I think it makes a difference (maybe big) if there is no documentation as to what happened. Most people would not take ones "word" that is was a minor incident with no structural or sheet metal damage without an incident report, pictures, or body shop documentation where dates align. Muscle cars.. even with a bent frame and the car crabbing down the road you probably could not tell they were so poor overall. 355, different story.

355 is an interesting age. cars made in the 60- early 80's can have significant rust repair cutting out massive parts of the original car. And this can be seen as a bonus. Do the same work on a car from the 90's and people don't see it the same way even though cars from that era also are prone to rust. If we were talking about 10 year newer cars, the impact would be even bigger. Fixed right, I don't think it matters beyond the fact that the car is not original - just like a repainted car. Except it impacts ability to resell...

black on black F1 to me is about as bad a spec as you can get. But I feel given the recent 4K mile car that did 15xk on BAT that this car is for sure priced correctly or even a bit below market.

given what the stock market is doing right now, and the interest rates, who knows that “market” really is right now.

I can think of so many other combinations that are worse than Nero/Nero. Verde and Crema for one. Giallo and Natural. This car seems well priced. And the market warning signs were known 12 months ago, anyone not prepared is just an opportunity for me. Fed has been propping it up for 2 years. Fake news [emoji2957]
