Any recent guidance on delivery?

Building a strong relationship with your local dealer is a must in this game, I struggled with this for a long time when I got into Ferrari, especially coming from Porsche and Mercrdes where things are straight forward. I think anyone new into the world of Ferrari needs to build a relationship even if it means you don’t get the best deals to start but over the years it will surely pay off.

 

Does it have to be a local dealer?

 

It obviously needs to be in the same country, not sure how it works in America? But Ferrari seem to be very concerned about tracking where cars end up and to protect local dealers and hold them accountable for service and overall customer satisfaction.

 

You can buy used Ferrari's at any dealer. To order a new Ferrari, it has to be from your local dealer. If you had a bad experience with your local dealer, you can write a letter to Ferrari of North America asking to change dealers.

 

What if you had a previous relationship with a dealer? I thought if you bought a used one you could go back to them for new no? Hadn’t applied to me yet, but definitely curious.

Top of mind for me is what happens if I move to a new city, so I have to shift my business and relationship, or maintain with my dealer?

 

If you move, it will be with the closest dealer. I don't think buying an used Ferrari means you can order a new one from that dealer.

I have talked to Miller Motorcars about buying from them, they said that would send people to take the car for service and return it. It would be a 3 hour one-way for them. Decided it was not worth the trouble.

 

I placed my order with San Diego, even though Newport is closer.

 

I think when it comes to 296 deliveries, they were so inundated with F8 orders that it had to get pushed back. I ordered my F8 Spider in September 2021 and was told 2 years. They closed the order book for F8 at the end of October 2021 in the states, so they are going to be making F8's until the end of 23.

 

I was told that they are building a new production line for the hybrids, so the backlog of F8s won't impact 296 deliveries going forward.

 

Are you waiting for F8 spider for September 2023???

 

Earnings call today still insisting on deliveries beginning Q2 2022 ie within the next 8 weeks

I wonder if they count dealer demos as deliveries.

 

Ordered mine through Ferrari of Houston even though Atlanta is closer to Alabama, because of my 40 year relationship with its owner.

 

I hope I am wrong for your sake, but I don’t think they will be making F8 spiders in mid to late 2023.

Maybe this means F8 Spider since its likely 296GTS is a year to deliveries just beginning to let the market receive some 296GTB

 

He also said F8 has been discontinued along with Portofino..

 

The owner of my dealership is on the board of directors of Ferrari NA and he told me that all orders taken would be produced.

 

"Discontinued", meaning no more orders being accepted.

So its now June - any update ?

 

yes rnd if June. But the car is not here. That’s what they told me one week ago. To Ferrari Berlin come this year 7 cars

 

Does he have any idea what the total production run on 296's is expected ?

 

My local dealer (UK) told be last week they’ll receive their 296 GTB demo in next 2 weeks

 

I got last week the FIN / VIN Number for my 296 GTB. So I think I will receive in the next three weeks.
