I was thinking the same thing!

I have painted them on nearly every Ferrari I’ve ever owned.

It’s not that I prefer them, I just don't find the paint solution appealing. Would rather replace them with clear reflectors.

That might have worked reasonably well on the FF but not on our Pista, 812, etc, where the reflectors are incorporated into the wheelwells.

I did go the clear reflector (blinker) route, along with Euro bumpers, on our 1997 993TT so I see your point, Veelang. But I wanted a more streamlined look for this clean, shieldless FF. IIRC, Euro Ferraris don’t have these silly orange reflectors?

Your heroic fight against the most ugly things mankind has ever produced needs to be rewarded by a serious medal of honor. Death to orange reflectors. It RUINS the look of any car

'Makes me thinking I went to pick up my beloved FF yesterday with my 993.
FF had the DCT sensors issue, I'm very glad to recover it!

Can you tell me what was the issue? On my way home today I was getting rough shifts and operation not admissible when starting from a standstill.

shifting into neutral and back into first was solving it so I’m hoping it’s just an error to clear

Transmission speed sensor. Eventually it'll get worse and start losing odd gears until you restart it.

Restart it or replace it? One sounds not terrible and one sounds like a 5k-7k fix lol

or do you mean restart the vehicle? I can live with that for a season I suppose

My FF worked fine since I bought it in 10/2019 but I noticed at high speed it was hesitating at shifting, since it was above 270kph it was very not often. (End 5 to 6 to 7th gears)
One year and 4000 km later it did the "operation non admissible" starting from a standstill.
It came back ok and did it a few times again, I checked the defaults and it was an "unplausible gearshaft speed", accusing the DCT sensors.
Since being stuck on the edge of the road with a Fcar is my nightmare I decided to let it to the dealer before it happens.
Cost for it has been about 5k€.
The gears shift perfectly since, even above 270 (only tried once!)

Good to know thanks! and wowsers 270kph is some speed!

Looks like it's going to be an eventual fix, I would rather it not be right now though. That gives me a bit of peace of mind.

Restarting the car will bring it back for a bit, but yeah it’s a transmission out job to replace the sensor to fix it. Mine went at like 27k miles if I recall.

Went clear on my 993tt as well. And the RS style fog light with air duct.

really clean without the shields, if I had a lot of F Cars I'd definitely get the FF without, but as my "only" the shields are something I've always associated with Ferraris that I'm glad I have

I love shields and have had them on every other Ferrari, but am also happy to have found a stealthier car to use as a daily.

    That’s low.

Nice without shields in that color.

Shield less is a mature choice even when selected preowned.

But the reactions on this board on the subject suggest the sales team is correct that ordering without shields delineates a potential resale population.
