I’ve been offered a set of 7.5j 15” 5-spoke Cromodora rims (fit the 400i as I understand). I currently have 16” Superformance wheels on my 308 and oroginal 14” cromo’s in storage. Will the 7.5j x 15” fit - or is this is a no-no? Price for the set is apprx £800. Image Unavailable, Please Login

7.5 x 14 was one of the original wheel options, and 308s were given 16s after 1982, so I don't see why either the width or diameter wouldn't work, unless the 400i has a different weird offset. However, if you're already running 16s, why would you want to drop down to 15s?

Wasn’t aware there was an OEM 16” for the 308? The Superformance 16” look great - but I anticipate values will grow with originality. Were the 15” ever an option for the 308 GT4 perhaps?

I’ve just been sent a link to a previous discussion on this very topic. All sorted - thanks

16” was standard for the GTB/GTS from 83 on.

    The data in this thread:

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/modern-ferrari-wheel-offsets.8361

indicates that 400i wheels have an offset of -5mm while the 308 chassis uses about a +11mm offset wheel = the tire centerlines of the 400i wheels would be shifted 16mm outward when mounted on a 308. Not sure if that's much of a problem -- at the rear it would probably look good (if the tire doesn't rub on the wing). At the front, it's a small steering geometry sin, but people run 15mm spacer often with no complaints.

One other thing you should look into is 308 wheels actually have two different size mounting bores: a deep 58 mm one to mate with the front hubs, and a shallow 67mm one to fit the rear hubs. Not sure what a 400i has (and don't have cross-section 400i suspension drawings).

One other issue for 2022 is the availability of 15 in tires - worth checking before committing
