A few iffy history items--chips and registered in a flood zone- kept it from going higher---,imho.-still not too shabby
And you can bet that this latest model variation will be pricey: https://www.thedrive.com/news/2023-porsche-911-sport-classic-a-manual-rwd-turbo-with-a-ducktail Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can't imagine the price but I wouldn't turn down the keys. Not liking the side number, if you couldn't order it without.
Porsche definitely produces much higher quality videos than does Ferrari. They are masters of marketing really. I’m still surprised that Ferrari has not created their own experience centers like Porsche. It creates so much brand exposure and give just a taste of their cars to a much broader audience
Unfortunately, availability of more basic Boxsters, Caymans and Carreras is super constrained these days. Aside from the excuses of "chip shortages and supply channel limitations", the company seems focused on high dollar limited editions of these cars, which are outside the means of many fans.
I’ve noticed this. Good luck walking into a Porsche dealership and finding a $100K Carrera. Our Palm Springs dealer is what one of the salesmen called a $37 million used car showroom. Filled with six figure used cars. There is (was?) a lightly used special edition Targa for $259K, probably going from one collector/investor to another. I suspect that Porsche is taking on some of what Ferrari has turned into — an expensive toy/investment for old rich guys who don’t really drive them. I hope that doesn’t happen. Is this Polar metallic color a rare color on the 964 Turbo? I’ve been looking for out what this color was my entire life!
This was just listed in Facebook Marketplace here: Marketplace - 1989 Porsche 911 | Facebook asking roughly $128k in USD. Granted it has low miles. But back in 1998 when I bought one, they sold between $25k and $30k here.
I kind of like this: Marketplace - 1979 Porsche 911 | Facebook it wasn't so long ago you could buy a decent SC for $12k to $15k!
I just picked up an SC Targa, not running. Fresh fuel and a battery and it runs and drives nice. Need to fix drivers side heat exchanger leak. Unfortunately someone converted it to a slant nose widebody. Not sure what I'm going to do with it Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, I'm not long out of a PCA DE day in which the local Porschenvolk put a number of 996, 997 and 991 GT3s and even a few new 992s on track and took them through their paces. There will always be the "wipe them with a cloth diaper" crowd, but I'm pleased to report that lots of us still drive them. (A few even drive them well.)
I agree, that was good, but only as of recently did their videos come up a notch. For a company so focused on luxury lifestyle, their videos weren’t representing that quality
Older Porsches are still very strong-particularly 930s pre 1994 and of course all 993 turbos and turbo s.
It is anecdotal, but I did have a dealer tell me they felt demand was softening. I don't know that I have anything much to support that opinion, but they see cars sitting longer at current "market" price than they have for a while. Does that mean prices will adjust? Maybe some, but I doubt we'll see 2019 prices again anytime soon.
Seeing more "reserve not met" on the Porsche side. Ferrari? not so much... Enzo Anselmo Ferrari (20 February 1898 – 14 August 1988) was an Italian motor racing driver and entrepreneur, the founder of the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team, and subsequently of the Ferrari automobile marque. He was widely known as "il Commendatore".
