I worked with Blendmount for a couple weeks. We tried longer bolts, spacers, got real close but no cigar while trying to mount escort radar detector with mag mount to the F12. Actually one can mount it with BMG-2034 with a spacer, but won't be able to adjust the rear view mirror. I'm back to the suction cup which is fine but I prefer the look of custom mount. Any suggestions?

I'd also love to know if someone has figured this out. The older threads all seem to have trailed off with people hitting dead ends. How limited is adjustment with the 2034? Is the mirror usable or does it have to be positioned such that it no longer provides a view out the rear window?

The part that clamps on the mirror stalk needs to be spaced out about a quarter inch, and the part that wraps around the stalk needs to be thinned out which Blendmount wasn't interested in doing. I used some urethane sheets as spacer but felt uncomfortable grinding down the part that wraps around. This is doable with the only concern being strength of thinned out plastic clamp wrapping around the stalk. If I had 3D printer, I think I would take a weekend to make a prototype.

The mirror get pretty much locked in with the clamp in stock configuration looking straight back. radar detector mount ain't worth that

Thanks for the effort with BlendMount. It's hard to believe nobody is making something like this.

Thanks for sharing your findings and all of those images. I came across your thread when searching earlier but unfortunately it seems like your end result was the same? What are you using for a mount these days? A suction cup? Did you get the mirror tap working?

I find that to be a much cleaner install, i don't have a good photo but i'm going for a test drive in a few and will take one

    Thanks Vee.
Yeah, I've tried those pads. They don't work for me I want to hardwire the power outlet from the center light on top. I'l ok using the suction method on the window but I don't like the wire down to the cig. lighter. I have it hardwired in my F430 .....just wanted to know if anyone has done this in the F12

Can I ask why it doesn't work? I've used them for all my cars and I've never had one fail me even just sitting there off while I tracked a vehicle. As for the hardwire from the top light, it should work no problem, looking at the fuse box it should have enough juice. otherwise you should have no problem with the wire going to the windshield either from the roof lining or the top of the dash and into the cabin fuse box

flea7, i hardwired mine. there is an unused fuse slot that gets 12v when ignition on at the passenger foot fuse box. I got "fuse adder" on amazon, and just plug it in. Then run the power through the a-pillar. btw, you don't need to take a-pillar trim off. I just had to pull off the rubber weather trip for the door.

Were you the one that installed carbon cup holders? I'm thinking of doing it...between $500 chinese stuff which looks 95% with very subtle weave difference or bite the bullet and pay thousands to get the weave correct haha.

The lateral shifts and movement wasn't the problem. When I go through a severe dip on the road at high speed, that is the problem and flies off. It happened when I went over a sharp depression on a straight doing 135mph bottoming out. This was in my F430. (it's not stock)

Good to know about a unused fuse slot but I was looking to tap into the power in the center console and having the line come out from the module near the V1 I have suctioned. I have that set up on the F430. I'll try it but wondered if anyone here has done it on the F12.

As far as the carbon cup holders.....That's not me. I have carbon holders now but the secure tabs are silver. another option on this is to buy a used holder and have it carbon overlay done....but that may be just as much as buying the stock CF holder depending on the CF service. Me personally, wouldn't get the chinese stuff. The Ferrari CF cost is around $1,500. Not too bad.

1500 ain't bad at all. Was that eurospare? and the weaves match up perfectly? other than the price, I also wanted to do my part in buying from a 3rd party who took the effort to make this for our cars.. Ferrari's seem to have near 0 aftermarket support-everything from cell phone holder to FI kits. About the only thing we can do is the wheels & tires.

    yes, Eurospares.
I understand about the 3rd party support...but honestly, most their CF part prices are outrageous compared to the quality produced. A lot of them outsource them from China. My advice is to go factory....good luck.

    Vee,
I went and ordered these just to try them out and these are way more stickier than what I had tried before. I'll use these in the BMW with my phone because I don't think they meet my needs in both the ferraris. Thank you!

how did you take off the plastic cover for the mirror stem? and with this power cord, how do you connect the button to silence the beep when it's just K band?

The dealer installed the mirror tap for me. The power cord works the same way as the standard hook up.

it's an important device so you gotta like where it is. I of course forgot to take a pic of my mute button, it's mounted below the HVAC

But yes they're very useful, super sticky
