Hi again, looking for confirmation that my stereo was factory installed. On the options list is just says "Hi Fi Sound System". Per the photos there are 4 speakers in the bulkhead behind the seats and a triangular feature below the heater/A/C controls. This pyramid shaped box has Bose embossed into the leather, though you can't see it in the photo. Have others seen this item and 4 speakers in other 430's? I think yours is Ferrari OEM. I don't have a Spyder so the rear looks a little different with the storage area but the speaker parts look like my 2009 with the $7400 Bose High Power Hi-Fi system. You can see the "Bose" box here in my car under the radio/AC controls. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The box under the dash looks OEM or a good copy .. not sure if bose amp is in there The speakers are not OEM ..oem are more bubbly oval shape Look below Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Why do you think it's not OEM Bose HiFi option? looks like mine which I know wasn't changed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
just has a presence of creativity beyond what Ferrari would do The photo in post #1 does not look OEM Photo in post #7 maybe Hard to know What makes the analysis tough is not seeing these unusual configurations on a wide number of cars So they look like very custom adaptations
I think all the speaker photos may be OEM with the addition of the small storage tray in the newer cars in between the speakers. My car is a 2008 with the storage tray.
My 430 has the same upgraded sound system..speakers in the rear and amp under climate control...like Cory stated very expensive option.
Guys Look at the pics ..the back speakers are not OEM .. if i had to guess .. a good installer used a box from the Bose for the front and copied closely the back speaker enclosure Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Cost seemed to be no issue for the original buyer. Looking at the window sticker the total was $316k with $81k in options. I do wish he had replaced the radio head for an Alpine or other. the CD plays fine but the radio is undecipherable.
I may have to retract my statement.. the difference that i may be seeing in the bugle may be because of the spider firewall vs coupe firewall .. So please disregard my comments.. the parts diagram is still valid though Sorry for the confusion Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
I looked up the 430 audio systems, and now I see that the photo in Post # 7 appears to be an OEM Bose speaker system The earlier photo in post #1 is obviously the work of a custom installer
I think the only difference between mine and the OP is that I have a coupe so no storage cubby and my stitching is very red so it sticks out. Otherwise everything else looks the same. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Hard to be sure but what I looked up does not show an enclosure similar to Post #1 The parts break down was clearly showing the one from post #7 however I really think the enclosure shown in Post #1 was done by a very clever installer
Although I thought the same as you @GCalo i reversed my position after carefully examining the photos ..I agree with @CoreyNJ Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Hard to tell but I cannot find what is in Post #1 in the 430 drawings Could only be sure if one side were removed and the name on the drivers was uncovered
It’s all OEM and the rarer Bose Audio HiFi. Also discussed in this old thread: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f430-factory-bose-sound-system-coming.147771/
Big help thank you Was not aware of that Not sure the system is so great but better than the ASK OEM systems
I agree, my car is exactly like the referenced thread above from leichtbau. I can only see 8 visible speakers though. The system is powerful and can overcome my Tubi exhaust decibel for decibel
So just to clarify, are there two or three different factory sound options for the 430? Obviously the link above, and the op original pictures look like the Bose Hi-Fi option. Mine has the little amp underneath the radio and the 2 hole box behind the center console that I've seen most have. Is that the basic or is that like a mid-level option? I kind of thought there might be a basic option with unit and no 2 hole box behind the center console
Yes, there were three factory audio set ups for the F430: the first and most common is the standard radio and speaker system (i.e. no subwoofer box). The next level above, was the optional ASK "2 hole box" system with the leather amplifier cradle under the dash (SND1). And above that was the much rarer (and expensive) Bose system (SNDB).
Perfect info. Just got mine, trying to figure out the options and just get a better understanding of these cars. Wish I could track down the original window sticker
So not to beat a dead horse here, but my window sticker just says "HiFi Sound System" with no mention of Bose though Bose is clearly embossed in the box below the A/C controls. Does this mean my car has the most expensive option? thanks, Mike
