I finally have the car in my possession as of last week after a few weeks in Atlanta getting some work done…all of which were ideas picked up from posts on FChat. I’d say it’s ‘dialed in’ and I’m ready to drive and enjoy her to the fullest.

Here’s a list of what I’ve had done. All of which is reversible, similar to what I did on my 488 GTB, but frankly I have no plans to part with this one and I doubt a buyer would complain with these ‘mods’.

Lowered on stock springs 18mm front/21mm rear and aligned

    10mm spacers front/15mm spacers rear

    Painted side markers body color

    Full Paint Correction

Full XPEL PPF including door jambs, rear diffuser, and leading edge of front lower bumper

    Full Ceramic coating

    Window tint

    Novitec X-Pipe Race Exhaust
    Novitec Tectronic module

Radenso radar with 2-RX and 1-TX ALP sensors 3 front & 3 rear

Blackvue DR900X front and rear cameras

    Floor mats by Exoticare

Italian flag emblem on rear bonnet

    Exoshield on front windshield

    Upgraded the standard stereo:
JL Audio amplifier, 3D printed tweeter pods (Scuderia Audio), Focal tweeters & door speakers, Alpine subwoofer in custom box to match leather and red stitching pattern

Removed the safety labels on both visors (I was most looking forward to this one!)

Installed an Aluminum dead pedal quickly followed by peeling off the protective film on the side plates next to the pedals.

Moved the brake pedal over one hole to the left for more spacing between it and the gas pedal.

Miracase cup holder for my iPhone for perfect Waze viewing.

Installed (peel and stick) Automods Skid Plates under front bumper

And finally, confirmed she fits on my new Wildfire 4 post lift.

That car is probably the best all around
modded car I’ve seen on F-Chat. Utterly beautiful and incredibly upgraded. Job very well done Andy! Enjoy in great health bro!

Wow - Love this - PLEASE keep us updated on how all of these mods grow on you etc. I just got my F8 Spider last week from Ferrari of Atlanta and will be watching this closely!

One quick thing - the Exoshield...any initial thoughts? I considered this for my F8 and other cars too as I HATE rock chips on the windshield...but the reviews out there seemed very mixed as to visibility etc.

    thanks for sharing!

Zero visibility problems. I cannot tell it is there other than the perimeter cut line looking up close from the outside. These windshields are so expensive/disruptive to replace, and with all the tech attached I figured I’d add the protection. I feel much more at ease on the interstate now.

TOTALLY get that. It's the thing that drives me nuts about longer road trips. Rocks hitting the windshield are pretty much inevitable. GREAT to hear that it's so unobtrusive. Please do keep us posted on it.

Where/Who did the install? Thanks again.

    Steve,

I just installed ExoShield on the 458, then tracked it four days at Watkins Glen. Already two hard strikes which probably saved chips or worse on the windshield. When I get back to FL. I’ll take delivery of the F8S and will do most of what you’ve done to yours, including a laser jammer (I like the escort 360 in the 458).

Love your car’s stance, I may do similar with 21 rears. Your exhaust is great but I have two loud cars already and want the wife to be able to drive the F8 without being scared of the sound. She won’t set foot in the STO……

Great job, your spec and mods are fantastic!

    Beautiful car - congratulations.

How did lowering the car on stock springs affect ride quality.

Exoshield - how did that workout? My installer has tried three different products without success.

Looks great! Subscribing to check back when my f8s is delivered later this summer.

    two questions:
    1) can you share more about lower springs/spacers experience and new stance compared to factory? Is this done by dealer?
    2) exhaust setup - how do you like it? Any concern of voiding warranty?

Rear camera was placed on the side top edge behind the driver’s seat. Center would be great but the installer thought it would impair (even though it’s small) site lines. It’s hard enough to see clearly through the back with the slits in the lexan engine cover. I think they angled it pretty good though to capture images.

Not many F cars around here and people get a little crazy driving around me so I feel better about having the cameras. I wouldn’t typically park it and leave it somewhere for long but maybe a restaurant or something. The extra cc size device in the upper front right window is for the Blackvue cloud feature so I can get real time video remotely on my cellphone.

Wow! Next level attention to detail on the mods. Very thorough and well thought out. Are you an engineer, pilot, or architect…lol? Well done.

Sure. I did the same measurements on my ‘17 488 GTB. F of ATL did the job and the critical alignment piece. No rubbing thus far. It may could be lower but I don’t want to risk bottoming out despite having the lift and the scrape protection.

I love the exhaust. But frankly it’s not much different than pinning the valves on a 488. The F8’s I drove prior to getting my own seemed too muffled to me. Like exhaling through a straw. Restricted. I don’t like a super loud/obnoxious exhaust sound so this sits well with me. Another fchatter installed the same last year and sent me a video which sounded good. I don’t plan on tuning the ECU or anything crazy. It’s good now as is. I put the car in Auto mode coming in and out of the neighborhood to make sure it’s at low rpm’s and relatively quiet. No concern on this causing an issue or blamed for an issue that would result in a warranty denial. I’ve talked to a couple of F service managers about it off the record and they’ve had zero issues or concerns with this mod. I want this car and my experience with it to be perfect. It should be at this price!

I’m not a ride quality expert. I don’t think I’d notice a difference that others may pick up on. I leave it in Race mode and engage the bumpy road feature 24/7.

I’ll PM you my Exoshield installer’s phone number. Maybe he can address your concerns. He was referred to me by 3 different shops in Atlanta, including FoATL.

Andy , could you please share a sound bite or video of the X Pipe on the F8. I have the valve controller on my F8 s and I’m not thrilled with that sound at all. Best , Kirk.

    Andy,

Wow, incredible mods to an already beautiful car! High fives and thumbs up!

I will be taking delivery of the spider when I get back to FL and I’ll ping you sometime for a hookup ride! A nice thing about previous ownership is you already know exactly how to spec your car.

If I’d seen your seats before I had to submit my order I’d have copied your design verbatim. Congrats! And let us know how it stacks up to the 488!

And bravo on the pipes! Yes please post a sound bite or two.

Ha! Engineer yes in terms of college degree and first few jobs before grad school. Pilot? 2 months into lessons on a Cirrus. Not sure I’m a fan yet.

You have made an excellent car only better ! Well done looks so good !

Looks so much better without seeing the side markers that you guys have in your legislation that we dont.

I love the wheels compliment but dont detract the attention of a beautiful car .Only one shade of yellow.;)

You have done really well with your attention to detail .

Heads up the Pista passenger side dead pedal is expensive but will compliment all the other pedals.

Are radar detectors allowed where you are ?

The whole stereo is a beautiful blend in.

The only thing I see is the black rectangle item in the center dash. Is that a part of the radar detector ? Does it need to be visible ? Maybe 3 D a piece cover it with the same leather and make it look as its a part of OEM.

Apart from that , its great and it clearly shows with what you have done.:)

This is brilliant! As I was just thinking about lowering mine but was not quite sure how it would look like with oem wheels and it looks great! Lovely mods, congrats and thanks for sharing!
