It is not that soft. It depends on who is bidding and where it is being offered. PC Market not best venue for that car. Honestly it can land at any number of price points. Could this buying cycle be over, yep. Home loans are at 5%’ ish that was normal money, just a little bit ago. FED pumping printing dollars has caused all kinds of market realities, but that has not been what is driving car prices, especially unique, lower production and limited availability cars. Most people paying big money want a certain car, with certain colors and history. They will always pay for that. Yes I want the market to stay up. In 2010, these cars at $50k were ridiculously underpriced cheap and people complained about ownership cost. Well now the new version of what the 355 is today is nearly $850k!! Just saw a spectacular 67 GTB. I remember when they were under $100k, hell, well under. F40’s got super soft, where are they now? Just be like Warren, buy and hold. Maybe not Mondials, but you never know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nope. To have a run-up in values you need a couple of building blocks the Mondial doesn't have: performance and looks. 355 has both in spades.
Why anyone would try to sell a Ferrari on Pcar is beyond me. They are constantly 15-20%+ lower than BaT on sale prices for Ferraris, if the car even sells. The target audience/marque is literally in the name of the website...
Right but sure seems to bring the money in this case. Perhaps a lucky misstep using pcar. Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I think in this case it looks like the selling dealer are big Porsche people... so likely they have a relationship with the auction. Just a theory/assumption
Yeah, my comment was more in general, as financial markets as a whole are struggling. But these are popping up slow enough that there are enough wealthy buyers waiting their turn. A bid like that is just trying to push others away from getting caught up in want to win from constant bidding. Also, there will always be someone for the less common colors too.. We shall see how this turns out.
Likely the only Mondial that will be of any value (in comparison to 355) are the Valeo style transmissions which was a predecessor to the F1. Still shift via gated manual, but automated clutch based on position of shifter lever.
I don't want to cause no fuss But can I buy your Magic Bus? Nooooooooo! I don't care how much I pay I wanna drive my bus to my baby each day I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it ...
Interesting. The black/tan GTS: 20,000+ miles in 2008 and said to reside in Chicago. https://ferrari355registry.com/registry/3836
So it did 1000 miles from 2008 to 2015 (presumable trucked to Florida) and another 1000 since. Reminds me of 2 I looked at here recently where neither had moved in 12 years but both with new majors....... I think I'd prefer a car that has done a couple of thousand miles every year of it's life (I just bought one) Time will tell if I'm right or not
you're absolutely right! the best ones are the driven and properly maintained ones IMO , they seem to have the least needs and are just overall happier & better running & feeling..at least thats been my experience thus far..i'd take a 50-60k mile 355 thats well maintained any day..and in reality thats not even high mileage at all, i'm a porsche guy and 100K miles is not even that much or frowned upon with the aircooled cars
Just read the add and then look at the carfax. 2nd owner purchased the car in 2008, not 2005 (17 years ago), with 21k+ miles. Not that it particularly matters.
Thinking about the reality of getting circa $300k via BaT -then watching it rot away in the bank with this economy vs. continuing to enjoy my well sorted perfect colors GTS…. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Exactly right. I made this case to my wife and even she ended up agreeing. Cash is a depreciating asset. 355's are an appreciating asset. The sound financial decision is to buy a 355.
True. I bought it with Lira in 2000, converted by JK Tech. in Baltimore Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
