I would. The more info you have on an F-car purchase the better.
I think the circumstantial evidence on F-chat is that the cars that sit, with few miles, are the ones that seem to have issues from non-use, not enough miles for the bugs to shake out, etc.

    Not really.

If there were a compression issue I would expect a check engine light to be on.

IF you were to want one though, its easily performed electronically.

Is there a reason you feel one is needed?

Check engine light and codes can be erased by any OBDII reader, not always would a compression issue pop up the light immediately. Could take a while. Also if the voltage is low like most Ferraris that sit, Who knows how long it would take to throw a code.

I did not and my 2015 had 16K miles, have had it checked twice since as required to renew the power train warranty. Avoid the dealer if you can, mine charges $1600.

I think a compression problem would probably show up in engine smoothness and performance. Having the complete service history would be more important to me. What model year and how many miles?

Yes, it is prudent to get a reliable compression test. On the other hand, I've not heard of engine problems related to compression on the V8 engines after 2000 and don't recall many before that. Some V12 engines had valve guide issues and smoking problems in the 456 era. I've not done pre-purchase compression checks on any of the F cars I have bought used, V8 and V12, but done evaluations to purchase decision without that step.

What models have you heard that have had issues?
