Only when you make a post Seriously, I'm getting worried that we are agreeing, I didn't realise I was that silly
Hey JM, thanks for the heads up. If the weather was looking better I'd be pretty keen to go for a run. The forecast though looks lousy, in fact I've seen reports of a repeat of February's shoit storm, over the next week. I just ploughed through a scintillating vindaloo, so may need a toilet handy tomorrow.
Doesn’t make any difference what they say - Aus has been on a roundabout for decades: Libs build up a surplus by spending nothing on infrastructure or services then Labour comes in and spends it all fixing up the neglected infrastructure and services - rinse and repeat. No one would ever get elected on the hard things that have to done: closing tax loopholes; cancel imputation credits and negative gearing; reorganise the tax system with a viable deduction for kids and cancel the rest of the ‘family’ welfare (except in cases of genuine tragedy/ disabilty; remove all subsidies from private health insurance and require insurers to provide a no-frills catastrophicevents only cover;
Surprisingly, I agree with some of that. Especially reducing family welfare (worst thing Howard did). Giving handouts / tax breaks to people whom patently don’t need them is ridiculous. I’d also add banning foreign ownership of residential property (or at least severely limiting it) would go a long way to making home ownership more affordable for all Australians, but too many people have their fingers in the pie for that to ever happen.
Just spent an hour of my valuable time trying to find the How to Vote cards for the Electorate of Curtin. 8 Candidates - only 3 HTV cards I could find How do these 5 dumbos expect to get a vote?
In the office on Tuesday I asked the 6 late20s to mid 30s staff what they thought of either of the major parties ideas for allowing them to use their super for housing deposits - unanimous ‘rubbish’ reply... Just shows how out of touch the majors are.
Unemployment now the lowest since 1974 at 3.9%. A year ago the “experts” were predicting it would go above 10%. And people seriously want Labor / Greens to take over? Fair dinkum.
He appeared on the news yesterday saying that our borders are still closed !!!!! WTF How can his minders be expected to brief him on contentious issues if he doesn’t have a grasp on basic facts Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
If he wins this election it will show me that 90 % (TM Pat ) of the population in this country have no idea of what’s waiting for them…I’d like to know how the hell he is going to fund the BS he goes on about…I guess we know how he’ll do it…Take from the hard workers to give to the lazy winger’s…It’s how labour operates…
On this topic - nobody! The hard stuff that needs to be adressed (stopping purchases with dirty money; false ownership registries; rorting of first home buyer schemes; negative gearing and tax benefits for developers; capital gains tax rules to cover ‘flippers’ - all of these are ‘no go’ zones for most politicians because it alienates the big donors...
