Thanks for the clips! Rear tips look great. Like you I'm not a fan of the HGTC tips either, so it's fantastic that Fabio offers these different tips, so no need to go shopping with another manufacturer!
Love the HGTC exhaust tips. Keeps the pipe covers cleaner, too. A salute to the 250 GT SNAP exhaust tips. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not 550/575 but 612. Fabio`s ( a bit modified from his design ) headers since 2018. Sound: Start: https://youtu.be/g3llnUEXnGk
550 looks so great in pozzi! Mine is tdf, but I'm having a 512TR painted pozzi. What's your interior?
Let’s be honest….anything looks good on a TR! from where I sit….there are no bad color choices on a TR or a Countach for that matter…..
@Ferrari55whoa @ralfabco Could not agree more about the dark blues.. here's three dark blue 456's (two pozzi, one tdf) surrounding my now pozzi 512TR Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the power gain on a 575 may have more to do with the Throttle bodies being a fair amount larger. The 550 is rather choked by it's 72mm x 2 throttle bodies. The 575 has far larger 84mm x 2 throttle bodies. However I don't think they can be swapped as the 575 has drive by wire vs the 550's mechanical throttle. The 550 responds very well to better breathing filters. Perhaps machining the standard TB's to be slightly larger with better filters and Fabio's manifolds will see similar gains as the 575 sees.
Interesting. I wonder if there are any parts we can swap from the 612/OTO but I can further increase the power on a 575
Yup, but from the 599, not the 612, that has the same size throttle bodies as the 575. Quite a bit of work on a 575M, but easy on a 612.
Robin (brogenville) changed his 612 throttle bodies to 599 ones, but the 599 and 612 shared intake parts that the 575M does not have. Would entail quite a bit of work and new parts for a 575M. You can find his thread in the 599/612 forum including comments on the 575M.
Any chance you could post a picture of that interior? Never seen one in Carta di succerro but I really want to see one!
My 550 headers are being sent back from Fabio this week (I bought the car with the catless version and no secondary air, and need both of those things for emissions, so I sent back to Fabio to have the secondary air pipes retrofitted and bought his cats). I had his headers on my 599 and was a bit concerned about engine bay temps because of the lack of heat shielding like the OEM ones. For the 550, I was planning on having them ceramic coated with Cerakote Glacier Series (silver) in effort to reduce temps. Has anyone done this on Fabio's headers before? Once complete, I will shoot them with a laser infrared thermometer gun with the car running. If someone else could do the same with stock headers it would be very interesting to see the comparison.
I had the headers on #projecttalladega coated with cerakote when the Dart427 was rebuilt and the heat difference was sizable (didn’t measure but that product seems to work).
P.s. thanks for the updates on your 550. I don’t recall are you on Instagram so we can follow the cars continued adventures? I’ve said this before….Other than the 550 I bought….the one you got from Nifty was at the top of my “most desirable 550’s” list during my personal hunting.
I do have instagram but hardly ever post. I am planning on making a thread here in this section once I have some more pictures to share. I am taking care of a lot of little things now while I have it apart waiting for the headers to come back, with some other plans coming down the pipe afterwards (suspension mainly).
Ok, @Konadog06 is going to shoot some temps of his factory headers. The crate from Fabio arrived today, and I'll be taking mine to the ceramic coater tomorrow. Should have them back & installed within a few weeks. We need someone with Fabio's headers (un-coated) to shoot temps to complete the comparison. Any takers?
