Mercedes 2 and 3 LOL. Appear to be competitive
So HAM has got out of his funk and is the greatest driver on the planet... ...or they might have figured out something on the car. sjd
Certainly looks like their issues are fixed, but we said the same in Miami friday....then come Saturday they where useless again.
I say it's good that Mercedes have sorted out their issues . . . . apparently. As long as Ferrari is in contention for the win in every race, life is good!
It's just mind boggling that the lap time difference between the first and the fourth boils to 320th of a second..
Apparently is the key word here. It's not the first time Mercedes initially does alright early in the weekend, only to fall backwards later on when it matters. They may not have fully come to grips with the porpoising, and they are still tinkering with the settings. Now it's Red Bull that is sandbagging ...
--It was less rosy for Leclerc on his late medium-tyre race run, however, as he dropped several tenths per lap to Verstappen as he complained about tyre behaviour and degradation.-- Post practice report on Autosport Always the tires. Ferrari need to address the apparent 'wear' issues.
I wonder if Alpine will ever put together a podium weekend? They've seemed to almost always show flashes of speed in qualy, then for whatever reason(s) just bomb out in the race.
