It's been to long since I've visited Fchat (no Fcar currently, but hoping to change that this year), and after writing one book on the Cizeta V16T (and documented the process in the "Other Italian" forum years back), I wrote another one.

Fighting to Be Heard: How the British Aerospace 146 started the regional jet revolution. A complete history of the BAe 146, which these days is either dropping fire retardant on large fires or shuttling passengers between Chile and Antarctica (most have been retired from passenger operations). The book is same size as the Cizeta V16T book (12"x11") although instead of 212 pages this book is 500 pages. And I'm happy to say it's not written like most aviation history books (boring technical and dry historical details). I did a deep dive talking to the people responsible for designing and building it, those that flew it for airlines as well as British Royalty, and the airlines that operated it. I even went so far as to submit a Freedom of Information Act request to the FBI on the PSA 1771 inflight murder/crash near Santa Maria, California back in 1987.

Anyway, figured I'd share with the group because it's aviation related. I produced one book, but two editions. The book only, and a special "G-LUXE" edition (named after the larger variant that was eventually built). Comes in a hard clamshell case, a USB thumb drive with "146" that lights up (and has over 200 aircraft brochures, marketing documents and more), a Blu-Ray disc with 7 hours of marketing and test videos, and finally a piece of an actual BAe 146 (airframe E2200) tag for the special edition (limited to 400 copies).

    Just thought I'd share.

    Very neat.

I worried this would be about Amber Heard.

I talked to engineers, designers and those on the assembly line for the actual aircraft. But I will note, this book is not technical heavy - I find that to be a bit dry and boring and actually put much more effort not only on telling the entire story of the aircraft, but focusing on other areas overlooked by other aviation books. Notably the sales process, marketing, and actual operators of the aircraft.

As for the link, I didn't want to push it to far, but if you'd like more information I do sell it direct (my publisher is selling it via Amazon, but the G-LUXE edition in the photos is only available through my website). You can see samples and more info here:

    You mean like this?

Hey Carl it's been too long (I moved to Washington can you believe it?). I actually came looking for pictures of the event at your house and was trying to see if I had the photo of my 456GT with the NRA sticker we put on the hood! Damn, can't find it. But saving my nickels for possibly an FF (why do I love the bastard children Ferraris?). I need to come down and visit, I've only been gone 18 months.
