Freeman, having a rear seat delete was an option for the GT4. Doesn't change the wheelbase, though... :)

Looks soo small compared to newer cars. But indeed, a rolling sculpture to look at and drives fantastic. The motor is strong, and the car feels light. The cornering is crisp. The close ratio gearbox is a blast with the cab forward seating feels like I'd imagine an early F1 car to feel. The layout of the gages is very pure, also, a direct descendant of race cars.

    Marcel,

I have always assume that all US spec cars had the impact bumpers. I’m very surprised to hear that some did not. I would assume these were only the very early US cars, I wouldn’t think more than just a handful at all.

The impact bumpers are not very pretty, but people have learned to live with them. I think when the black lower body is painted, it definitely disguises their boldness. I still think the “Euro” style (original design) bumpers are the awesome.

Thread hijack. Didn't anybody at Ferrari think twice about the nose on the Roma?

Just a gorgeous shape, it really aged well.

Not a fan of the "Boxer" paint some of them got. I think it detracts from the lines...+ doesn't really hide the ugly bumpers

raising the door shoulder is a terrible idea. looks way too fat. try lowering it for a coke bottle effect. plus the driver can now rest his elbow there.

This is one option. Here’s also a rough comparison with the Stratos.

I may be wrong on this, but I remember reading somewhere that the 4 in GT4 does not stand for 4 seats, but rather 4 cam. The proper name was Dino 308 GT4 2+2. If that is truly the case, I don’t know what to call the 2 seater designs that you envisioned (other than beautiful).

Here’s a photo of my former car, #10688

    Freeman,

Your work on this is amazing, maybe you should consider a career in such things...... your ideas are really cool, and I think it is easy to see the design similarities and potential.

Beautiful and a great example of how the lower painted area does a good job not making the silly US Spec bumpers look so bad.

Thank you Shawn! It’s been great fun playing with the proportions, stance and gestures! Great critiques btw! Makes me want to get the Sawzall out!
