Not what my dealer told me, so there is still time for you to do it as well. It’s like buying time. I would imagine air freight will save at least 2 months and maybe more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That’s strange for it to take so long. With my 812 it went from 10G to 10R in 2 or 3 weeks, but that was pre-Covid. Who’s ur dealer? I would call them and find out why there is such a delay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ferrari SF. They don’t seem to have any more info whenever I ask. Part of it could be I have a tailor made build but they seemed to telegraph that it would get pulled into production shortly after going 10G.
There are delays Ive been told at my dealer also…. They’re not being told or are not telling why it is so… Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The aggravating answer is “it depends”. Today air freight can run as low as $15k if the plane is full (spaces all sold) or $30k if less cars to offset the trip cost.
I’m in the same family of dealerships and I’m sure Tailor Made is the reason for delay. I went with the standard AF package with livery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Allegedly they've been working on the TM customizations for a while now (even while in 10G), I suspect to make the actual assembly go more like a normal car. The original estimate was delivery in late 2021 but everything slowed down substantially. Keep us posted on your car. Hopefully mine gets moving at some point. I'd hate for my delivery to slip into 2023.
Still waiting for my spider. I was told my car "officially hit the water" on 2/4/22 after completing inspection in early January. On 4/18, I was informed it arrived at the port in New Jersey. So that means 10 weeks on the water. Since it landed, I've been told for weeks it's waiting for a truck. Ironically, my Portofino M hit the water on 4/22 and I was informed it arrived in NJ on or before 5/20. So, less than 4 weeks. Neither car has been delivered to me.
Makes sense about preparing all the TM parts first so that they can put it through the normal assembly line when they’re ready. Will keep u updates on my progress and please do the same on your end. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks like they want to deliver them both to u at the same time, lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I checked in today to see if there was any progress. Still 10G, but it looks like the first MY23 VINs are starting to come in. They had previously said that they're expecting mine to be a MY23 delivered in calendar year 2022, so maybe anytime now? My fear right now is that it doesn't go 10R early enough before the August shutdown. If it's not on a boat by August, it's probably missing this year.
Nice call! That's exactly what's happening. Both are set to be delivered to dealer on 5/31. Crazy how vastly different the process timing was on these two cars...
That’s a good point about it being finished before their August month off. I would love for mine to come in as a MY23 car, but highly doubt it. I expect it to be done by July at the latest so we will see if our guesses are correct or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It’s a great thought, but they forgot that you cannot drive both of the cars out of the dealership all by yourself. Which one do you drive first? Please post some pics of both on 5/31. Enjoy both cars!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you're 10R you should have a VIN by now, and they should be able to tell you if it's a MY22 or MY23. I feel like you're around the cutoff. I think you're right, you'll be done by late July if production is back to normal now.
I’ll ask my dealer and see if they know, but I’m sure it will be a 22 car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Word is there is an issue with SF90 production, particularly the Spiders. Natural response could be supply chains issues. My dealer has only delivered one Spider and it was in October of 2021. He has not had another Spider arrive since which they are very surprised by. Make matters worse, they are not even getting Spider allocations to enter. My Spider was supposed to have been entered in Q1 with a delivery in late Summer or early Fall. They have not even been able to allocate it in yet. Could be trying to finish F8 run. Possibly a supply issue as the hybrids have more tech in them. Another possibility is that Ferrari trying to manage the market on SF90 Stradale’s out and are slowing down production deliberately. All possibilities with the only known item for sure is that SF90’s both coupes and Spiders are not coming to the US right now for some reason.
The sense I get is the F8 production definitely slowed things down. And we know from their last earnings call that US shipments were deliberately down due to port congestion. Ferrari has been consistent in saying that they haven't had any supply chain issues.
my dealer told me production on the SF completely paused due to supply chain, should have been here in March and the latest is my build has started yet and the don’t know when it will. The communication from Ferrari is appalling for such a brand
I remember seeing your post but I can't reconcile that with Ferrari's public statement earlier this month that production isn't impacted by supply chain disruptions. It looks like they delivered 81 SF90s last quarter (480 cars for the quarter, 17% of total production were hybrids, and SF90 is the only hybrid they build). It seems like Ferrari just isn't motivated to build a lot of SF90s quickly (maybe SF90 customers are less likely to buy something else and more tolerance for a wait?). Image Unavailable, Please Login
My dealer has promised me an update , it’s really not acceptable to have a car scheduled for March and now we are almost in June and there is no idea when my car will be ready. There are others on this forum who have reached out to me with the same problem. This problem affects SF most because of the Hybrid system parts needed
I get your frustration but they have no control of the supply of parts from their vendors. We waited over a year for a couch it’s just the state of things right now.
If it's not acceptable then walk away - someone else will be more than happy to take it when it arrives. Ordering a custom made Ferrari and waiting must be extremely painful.
