Is there a budget cap for trophies too? It has all the grace of a wire coat hanger. The longest running and most prestigious Grand Prix--can't they do any better than this?

    Not in the big three.

If your or I win a DTM race that would be pretty special. An F1 winner winning a DTM race? Not so much in the grand scheme of things.

It's me being facetious. I don't think Mick will ever be in a position where he could win the Holy Trifecta of motor racing. I think he should lower his expectations. Like to win in DTM.

Seriously, his performance so far in F1 is underwhelming. Up till now Marzipan was a good hiding place but KMag clearly shows now the real value of Mick. And it ain't pretty. Not a hater, just saying.

Ah got you. Yes absolutely correct. So far his performances are...ok. Some bad luck, I do think on a smarter strategy they could've actually had points last race. But then at the same time, had Kmag not been hit on the first lap he would've scored points.

Just goes to show that talent isn't passed down from father to son, not is wealth the end all be all to success, as some suggest with Max (though not especially wealthy, he does come from a racing background and enough money to have gone racing).

Nice kid but he's not Michael. Certainly competent enough to be a professional racing driver in any category, but I don't see the magic like his dad, Kimi, Alonso, Lewis, Max, Leclerc or Norris.

+1 - Cold truth. Talent does not always pass to the next generation. Mick is a decent F1 driver. Not good or great. Not so far.

As I asked somewhere on here some time ago: Is Mick another Michael Andretti or is he a Max Verstappen?

In most cases the talent deteriorates, but there are exceptions. It's all a matter of genes.

If we look at the first 28 races of Stroll vs the first 28 races of Mick, Mick all the way.

Stroll has slowly grown into a competent driver now. Nothing special but also way better then the disaster he was. Mick was competent straight away, I can't remember him having done anything bad or especially good. His career so far is pretty anonymous.

Mick has always needed more time in his areer. Maybe that's his whole approach?

It's unfortunate that people have expectations for Mick. I think Ralf was vastly inferior to Michael and if there were ever two people that should be comparable it would be them. I would be surprised if Mick ever achieved 1/10 of what Michael did. On the other hand, Max has been coached through the prism of experience and seems to be surpassing what Jos achieved.

I think its both genes (athleticism) and environment (experiences).

    You'd have to ask Mick.

The fact is that on a world-wide basis, the DTM is not as well known as the others mentioned.
