They're actually California liberals. They just moved to Texas after they screwed up California.

Schools are liberal strongholds. This is so they can start indoctrinating kids early.

Also, these kids (the mass shooters) aren't idiots. They're a lot smarter than you. They're probably smarter than me. Coming up with more gun regulations isn't going to stop them. No doubt that school had a "no guns on campus" rule. Did that stop him ? Try using your brain for once.

Right! We need gun responsibility to start in the schools just like schools teach everything else under the sun that is topical of the day. Schools have a zero tolerance for guns even expelling kids sporting T-shirts with a print of a gun on it. Schools should stick to teaching about guns because we are a gun culture. If you ignore our culture mass shooting are what you get.

There was a time we respected the power of firearms and taught firearms in our schools. Kids learned the dangers and responsibilities of using firearms. That's why we did not have the daily mass shootings until recent times. Look at the decline of smoking since WW2. We went from everyone smoking to a small minority of smokers. Cigarette taxes and laws against under 18 smoking did not stop smoking. Educational campaigns stopped smoking.

Those girls would likely all be expelled from school for doing that now. And they probably wouldn't be girls, but boys dressed up as girls. Liberal progress.

One of the facts rarely mentioned is that the majority of mass shooters are on antidepressants. Perhaps some new regulations on the pill doctors is in order ?

Typical deaf pro-gun response....Blame the victims, belittle the one questioning you. As I said, pathetic!

This thread is 192 pages long, can someone make a rational solution? I'm in favor of regulation like automobiles. Take a test, get a license, register the gun, state regulated. Every time I bring this up people jump all over it that responsible people are not the problem. I would point out that auto deaths decreased dramatically after 1946 when states started requiring license and registration.

Decrease in auto deaths was caused by the introduction of automotive safety systems that is still evolving today as our cars have more power and capable of higher speeds. Look at our own "gino512" on Fchat. He isn't dead yet but totally skirts all speed laws and boasts of his high speed crashes on residential streets. License and registration do very little except provide the state government with another means of tax and control. We have to educate for responsible gun use and keep guns away from the mentally ill. We need to identify the mentally ill instead of normalizing abnormal behavior. Sociopaths need to be locked away not given a pill and put into our neighborhoods.

In a word......causality. I doubt as @fatbillybob noted that bad behavior is magically changed when you license or try to regulate it. The US Government has a long and disastrous history of trying to regulate things for the social good only to have the regulations create new problems. Prohibition comes to mind as well as the Federal Regulations about interfering with a plane hi-jacker prior to 9/11/. Mask mandates, mandatory vax cards and travel restrictions all have proven to be intrusive events with little or no gain except for the people pushing them.

We all feel terrible for the families who lost their children and their teachers. Words cannot express the level of anger and grief they must feel.

Passing a new gun law won't stop the next incident nor will it change that Chicago has had 218 people killed by guns so far this year. Even dems are screwed on creating new laws because denying a black person from buying a gun based on previous behavior will be seen as racist.

The best thing that can be done is to protect the soft targets in our society and flag crazies as soon as possible. That means the dems have to stop criminalizing the Police and welcome them into our schools. As long as the dems wage war on the Police and celebrate the mentally ill.....they invite more bad behavior.

Very simple. Post armed guards in schools. This should have been done across the country after Sandy Hook. If the district can't afford it, there are people willing to volunteer. The only problem with this is that the liberals would have to admit that more guns are the solution.

Disarming the public is a well known goal of the left. They see the school shootings as an opportunity for achieving that goal.

DO you know when I asked this question seriously in PnR many years ago, the answer came back because their 2nd Amendment was intended to ensure that citizen’s militias could be raised in case of the ‘government going bad’...
Was certainly a lightbulb moment for me.

Because of what's been going on in Ukraine for the past few months.

Also, the school shooters could easily have done as much damage with an old shotgun (Plugs' favorite), and a bag of 00 buck.

I am not completely certain about this but.......
I was under the impression that if you held a class three federal firearms license in the US you could own anything up to and including a 105 mm howitzer! Maybe in limited states????
And by law have to take it to a military range once a year or three ???? and make sure it is serviceable by a live fire.
I know there is the Machine Gun Club of america that have members with 50 cal's in ex airforce ball turrets and mini guns with 1000 round mags, M 60's, Mg 42's, uzi etc.
    But an artillery piece???

Maybe some of our american friends on this thread could clarify.
