**** happens. At your age, just fix the car and enjoy it to the maximum extent possible. Owning a Dino should be something to rejoice!

I don't judge you at all. I've certainly done things I wish I'd done differently. My dino needed about $75,000-$100,000 to bring it up to snuff. Paint down to bare metal because of several rust areas, tons of small issues that add up at $100 an hour, wheels refinished, all brake, fuel, coolant, radiator hoses replaced...it goes on and on. I just tried to appreciate I was taking a decent dino and making it better. As I said, no judgement here. BTW, I made a comment a month ago to an established poster, which I am not, and received several obnoxious posts from him. Welcome to the world of social media posting. My car is not my religion, just a pretty car I enjoy driving. There are some that should get a life

Yup, that's what I've been smelling too.

Sad to see, but I've seen it lots of times personally.

    haha.

    We see you, buddy.

    But I'll still play.

The issue is, what I'll recommend won't meet your brand new expectations for a used 50-year-old car, so moot.

I don't think folks will be sympathetic to somebody that dropped 1/2 mil on a toy on your plight.

    Well, maybe Morrissey.

You can put lawyers in that same bucket but, as someone said (or a very great many people have said), better lucky than good.

I have had classic cars and I know what problems you then can have (a lot) , so please try to be decent instead of insulting other people.

I know that, but the modern equivalents drive often much better, saver and faster, I know from my own experiences.

    I’m busted!

Not only is he a Grandmaster, he has mad detective skilz!

I’m not the one who came to a Dino forum insulting the car and the owners.

I would never go to a Cali/Porto forum with tactless comments about the cars the members obviously treasure.

I would love to parry with you but (to paraphrase) it would be unsporting to engage in a match of wits with an unarmed opponent. Ha!

    Reality check.

You roll into the DINO forum and insult Dino owners with your posts.

If you don't understand why people pay what they pay for a Dino, and thin a v-12 is the way to go, go hang out with the V-12 guys. (Many of whom own, or have owned Dinos along the way.)

There are no v-12's that look as beautiful, sound so sweet, or drive so wonderfully as the Dino does. Sure, there are beautiful V-12's, but have any made the 10 most beautiful cars list as the Dino does on almost every occasion? Nope. The V-12's are a different animal entirely.

And, the price is what the price is. If some guy wants a Dino, and is willing to pay $500,000 then that's the market at this time. Next year, who knows? Maybe Daytonas rocket up and Dinos fall back, or maybe finally the 308GT4 gets hot, and pass $100,000, markets are fickle.

But, don't insult the guys in here with your ridiculous posts.

I believe this is a fair reply to a fairly insulting poster. The dino is amazing for all the reasons listed. I truly love the 275 GTB. I don't own one, but I appreciate the amazing looks. Why would I insult the car and owners by disparaging it because I don't own one? If anyone drives a dino, I can't imagine they would be disappointed.

Your answer is totally ridiculous. This is not a Dino forum, but a FERRARI forum.

    Grandmaster,

My Porsche cayman s does everything better than a dino. It's almost too perfect. I'm sure the same with your California. The cars almost drive themselves. It's the different mindset between new cars and classic cars. With classics, I find them much more enjoyable to drive. Rev matching, double clutching in 2nd gear, it keeps you involved. These cars have soul. Modern cars are clinicals. I can use more of the dino on the open road, than 500-600 HP exotics. Then there's exclusivety. At cars and coffee, people linger more at my dino, than alot of exotics, McLarens and newer Ferrari's. Different strokes, different folks.

I like also very much some of the older Ferrari's, especially the design, but steering, brakes, airco, etc.etc. are often much better in the modern ones, and so is the speed and acceleration. I don't like to drive on the way and not able to outrun even a VW GTI. I don't like to show off with my car at cars and coffee-meetings, but I prefer to drive it on nice roads or with other Ferrari-enthousiasts (and they drive mostly the new ones).

    Ouch!

Oh, Grandmaster, what are we going to do with you? Ha!

That Grandmaster can sure throw some powerful jabs!

I guess I do need some *glaases because that sentence doesn’t even make sense.

But… you are right, Grandmaster, I do know myself *goo……well.

Have you had a stroke or is English not your first language?

English is not my native language but I corrected my reply already, before I saw your reply. But this is Ferrarichat, not Dinochat, the guy is just complaining about his purchase of an old Ferrari, that could have been i.e. also a 355, is it then a 355 forum? No!!!

But I see in your profile that you drove only terrible cars (Chevy etc.) and apparently you know nothing about Ferrari's. That explaines your stupid generalisation about Ferrari-cabrio's, you are very ignorant. I rest my case and don't want to waste my time anymore on such a wimp.

    “the guy”?

Hey! That’s Mr. Trash to you, buddy.

From now on I must insist you address me as Mr. Trash.

That sentence still doesn’t make sense.

Where did I complain about my purchase of an old Ferrari?

Maybe you should consider a translating service?

I hear you. Certainly the braking is not great, but honestly, not terrible. I have a 1952 jag xk120, and I can tell, those brakes are scarey. Honestly, the Dino's aren't bad. Certainly nothing like a modern car, I agree. At 2380 pounds, that is incredibly light, which helps the car hit 148, so the factory said. Here in America, where am I going to even do 90? The handling is superb, and on a twisty road, I think the aforementioned vw would have some difficulty keeping up. But I get it, you prefer modern exotics. Nothing wrong with that.
